Put it this way, if we where to meet up what would we call you? Guest? those of us on here who know each other are known by our knicknames first, first names second. A guest posting does give the impression that the truth maybe bollox....if you catch my drift. a guest could be anyone. What you say is true for face to face meetings but why does that apply to the more impersonal nature of an internet message board.

So posting as, for example, BradfordShrew or CastlefieldsShrew with some made up Email address adds credibility. ? Sorry, but I just don't follow that line of thinking at all. Every poster has an IP address and is therefore identifiable and accountable, meaningless tags beyond that add no further accountability. Ip address is meaningless if you use a pc in a public place, the user cant be traced, its a shame guest posters don't want to really join in the B&A community which goes way beyond this message board.

Someone who posts on blogs, blogospheres. They're very popular in the world of politics. Right wing blogs claim the demise of Dan Rather (CBS News Anchor) and the head of CNN News (name escapes me). The essence is that in order to gain credibility, and identity has to be claimed and maintained. Posting as a guest, an identity has been refused, which in turn leads to a reduction in the level of credibility attached to postings. That's not to say that they are lies though. I see i'd never heard of them before.

The cynical Shrew post by Sean, maybe you didnt understand? if you hang about for long enough on here you'll come across the cynical one and you'll get the meaning of sean's post

The band Idlewild - they were playing a free gig in HMV in brum at 5Pm and it was soul destroying music of the most mundane type!! (i only went cos a mate who was going to see Mars Volta tonight said lets have a pint and tricked me into see this trash) If you want soul destroying mate you should have accompanied your mate tonight! I'm stuck here doing backstage work and the Mars Volta truly have sapped me of the will to live, the kind of music played in the elevators of hell. I have had to act as their (and the support acts) 'lackey', replenishing drink/food supplies etc and I can therefore tell you that as well as being a crap band, they are a load of tossers too. Ah well at least I get to feast on their free booze/snacks while they are onstage Also 'guest', I wouldn't talk to someone in person if they refused to identify themself, why should it be different on here? P.S. anyone harbouring ambitions to play the Academy one day...the backstage facilities/dressing rooms truly are god-awful

My opinion about guests - a username and e-mail address don't identify people in the real world but give them an identity in this community and that gives them a posting history so other people can form an opinion of them, their opinions and their reliability/honesty. Does that make sense? I think the guest system is fine for short term visitors (i.e. fans of forthcoming or recent opponents) but I do like to see Town fans and other regular visitors registered.

I've been waiting for one of these threads to come back arround ;D. Current things annoying me are:
1. People who eat with their mouths open and make the most annoying sound known to man kind.
2. People (especially women) who can not control a shopping trolley.
3. Rude people i.e. those who have no manners, don't ever use their p's and q's and never acknowledge others.
4. People who say 'what' instead of 'pardon' or 'sorry' when they haven't heard something first time.
5. The use of the phrase 'innit'
6. Nissan Micras - what horrible cars

Not recognising anyone in that photo.
I thought the one on the far left was Richard Whiteley, but he isn't the anti christ, with Esther Rantzen next to him.

that - old Fav on this thread The band Idlewild - they were playing a free gig in HMV in brum at 5Pm and it was soul destroying music of the most mundane type!! "Every step takes a beat of your heart Through a city that's falling apart On a night that rises and clears In a sky that's clouded by years My anger is a form of madness So I'd rather have hope than sadness And you said something You said something stupid like Love steals us from loneliness" AND "She look good but I know she after my chedda She tryna get in my pockets, homie and I ain't gonna let her Be easy, stop tha bulls**t, you get your whole crew wet We in tha club doin' the same ol' two step" Spot which one Pricey finds 'soul-destroying' and which one he is a big fan of.

The way my wife throws things away that she has decided I don't need anymore.
If there's something I can't find you can guarantee that it's in some landfill somewhere.

people that go below 50 on a 60 mph road these people who then pull out in front of another car at an island as if theyre in a rush the train timetable always changing to suit them and telford train station car park - instead of adding more spaces they make a huge bit of the car park for a bus to turn round when hardly anyone uses it

and telford train station car park - instead of adding more spaces they make a huge bit of the car park for a bus to turn round when hardly anyone uses it People who assume that just because they have a car, they are more important than an attempt to encourage more people to use public transport. The station carpark has more spaces after the re-modelling, and the reason for the big bus turnabout is because f*ckwits kept parking wherever they felt they could get away with, including along the entire bus access route to the station, risking frequent collisions and people's safety. Another personal gripe - oversized pushchairs/prams. Do people really need to take 5 days food supply and a hyperbaric chamber to get baby to the shops for an hour? How long before they start fitting them with neons and sub-base woofers, bucket seats and rollcages?
