from a mansfield Website After 94 days and 17 games as Caretaker manager, Carlton Palmer has achieved only a couple of things, to divide the Stags support and in our view, introduce the most negative boring tactics imaginable into the club. Crowds are on the decline, even with the County and Swansea wins behind us, only 3600 bothered to turn up against Cheltenham, the home support was less than we to County. Don't think we are jumping on the bandwagon either, we got into arguments at County (whilst we were 1-0 up), about the negative tactics on view. Many of those who we go to games with, are now boycotting simply because of the negative tactics on view. Keith Haslam has to now grasp the feeling among supporters, and not appoint his friend Carlton Palmer into the hotseat. Failing that, Palmer has to realize that these tactics are a big turn off, and start to attack a bit more, yes that might open us up, and we might lose more games, but it would be a damn sight more entertaining. Keith Haslam must not make another mistake as chairman (hell he made one when he decided not to give Dearden another contract with us in the top three!) and appoint such a negative football manager. Palmer bleats on about not looking at his Stockport record, when clearly he used past records to decide McKenzie's fate, he won 25 games out of 90 there, here he has won 5 out of 17, a very similar pattern we think. Haslam must say NO More and say thanks, but no thanks. Our tip for the hot seat, bring Stanty in as Manager to work along side Holland, at least it would get the fans behind the team again. Of course, if Mr Palmer reads this and wants to reply and put across his side of events, we will be only to willing to listen, the club has our contact details. www.dejavu.fanzine.btinternet.co.uk/news2.htmlI'm sure it won't get any better for them.....

Palmer must be doing a bad job. Even Salop failed to lose at our perennial grave yard last Saturday.
