Far too logical for Svennis to go along with ...............
although it makes perfect sense to the rest of us.

Without doubt Terry is the best defender in the country and should be first choice centre back for England. Not only is he part of the best defence, but he's also scored more than Campbell and Ferdinand combined, surely he's gonna be the player of the year too. Not sure what else he needs to do!

i reckon england should play 3 centre halves - it's the only way we can field our best players. also it would help us to concede less from set pieces which we always seem to do. terry should be in but the other 2 are hard to drop.

I have though that for a while A team with Wingback that I would love to see given a go in a pointless friendly Kirkland/Robinson/James Terry Ferdinand Campbell Johnson Cole/Bridge Beckham Gerarde Lampard Owen Rooney

pricey, does your team deliberatly miss out Englands most consistent player? No But Gary Nev does not fit in that tactic anywhere and is a poor attacker where as Johnson is good going forward at wing back - he would have to play if you went with that tactic!! also Nev's a trouble making union type - i would have rid if i were Sven!!

that will come back back to haunt you my friend No no Luis Garcia is convinced the reds can win the thing now barca are out!! I have a bad feeling about tonight for both teams - if liverpool can sneek a fluke from some one then they should be through - but they stink away from home this season The gunners only hope is that Henry is on fire still from the weekend!!! But its football anything could happen and i think baros whos underperfomred since the Euros might have another highlight of his carrer tonight?

Leverkusen are pretty good at home, and should they score a couple of quick goals, Liverpool have all the attacking creativity of a small and slighty wet lettuce. I hope Kewell plays

I hope Kewell plays He wont he has not travelled – some thing else is wrong with him (he out at the end of the year but hes on 67 grand a week so whos going to take him???) And to be fair – take the p**s out of Liverpool all you like – there like 20 points off united but still got to the same stage (possibley further) and got to a cup final. One thing is sure Liverpool need a goal and thankfully the forwards might be depleted but Riisa, Steve G, Hamman, Garcia all have goals in them. Its going to be close that’s for sure Also the Germans have not scored in the first 35 mins of any Champs league game this season (shocking stat to be honest) so there is hope that Liverpool can keep a clean sheet till HT and force them to change the way they are playing not the other way round!

but what have Liverpool won? There is a reson Neville has won just about everything there is to win in domestic football and a Euro cup to boot, as welll as winning 70 odd caps. Thats because he was of the most underated fullbacks in the world. He's pretty good going forward, has good link up play with Beckham and is a quality defender.

I think John Terry is fantastic and Sol gets injured to often and old age is nockin on his dooe. Get with it Sven you know Rio/Terry makes sense!

i reckon cole is one of the best attacking full backs in the world and i'd play red nev. he used to be poor but he's now not only an accomplished defender but he can cross the ball well too. johnson's got a lot to learn judging by last nite and he could well be on his way in the summer.

Neville is excellent going forward and defending. He's a must to start for England no matter what formation we play.

Gary Neville will be in the first three names on the team sheet no matter what style or system we play
There is no-one else in the entire team so secure of their place, so experienced in their position, so successful at their club, so consistent in their form and so respected in the world of football
Very few people like Gary Neville, even fewer love him, but everyone respects him.
I would always play 4-4-2 because that is how we know how to play
Playing 5-3-3 does not play allow us to play our best playersa, because it puts quality players in unfamiliar positions with unfamiliar roles
Pick two of the 3 centre backs and play 4-4-2 and let them be world class
For me at the moment I would say Terry and Ferdinand, and I was unsure of Terry up until recently
don;t muck around with the system and prevent players playing to their potential
and yes, if we have 4-4-2 Gerrard should NOT be on the left!
Robinson
Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole
Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, GUESS WHO
Owen, Rooney
Subs - Defoe, SWP, Bridge, Cole, Campbell

Pricey, what is kirkland doing in your team!!!!!!! At best he's injury prone and is not a patch on Robinson!
I'm not sure how good Gary Neville is, apart from anything else there has been virtually no other english right backs around since Rob Jones retired!

Why on earth do people think Owen should start??

Pricey, Glen Johnson is a very promising player but his defending is nothing short of s**te!
Last night he kept giving the ball away and then tackling the player in possession from behind. Play him as winger though.

Play him as winger though. Watch the lad in a game hes not come on not got to the pace of against the best attacking team in the world and judge him I think hes destined for big things - look at his ages and hes playing in games like last night Typical attitude of a decent young player in England being kicked down before hes done anything!!! They boy is going to be class!

Why on earth do people think Owen should start?? Everyone moans about how the English players have too much footy - both Owen and becks next year for the world cup should be fit and rearing to go and to have your 2 first choice players in that situation will benifit sven loads Also Owens done more than could be asked of his time on the pitch in spain out scoring Raul and not far behind Big Ron. And hes NEVER let england down in a competitive game that i can reacall

10 goals in 27 games this season, with 16 of those as substitute and a career average of still more than one goal every two games 28 goals in 67 games for England and he is only 25 He could break 100 caps and the goalscoring record, but still, whatever you think Geoff
