Mr Collina, fantastic game between Chelsea & Barca plenty going on but you wouldn't have even known he was on the pitch & he got everything right too.

He is without doubt the best referee in the world, by a long way.

Booked the barcelona player for diving and quite rightly so, but let both Duff and Cole get away with a few dives.
Can Joe Cole actually stand up for more than 5 seconds?

Did he not take instruction from the linesman regarding the penalty? It looked like hand ball to me.

He got several things wrong included the Barcelona penalty. Definate penalty IMO. Carvalio jumped with his hands high in the air and wasn't even looking for the ball. He may not have intended to handle it but 95% of fouls are un-intentional - that doesn't stop them being fouls

It was Ferrera not Carvalho and he was fouled by Eto before the ball struck his arm.

Woops, you are correct it was Ferrera
I don't think it was a foul at all before his handball, Ferrera can't have any complaints IMO

Gentle nudge on Ferreira but he led with his hands and can have no arguments about the pen.
Don't think there was a great deal of contact if any on the keeper & to be fair he wouldn't have got anywhere near the header anyway.
A great ref who is having to retire at the end of the season as he is 45 which is the rules in Italy - 48 in this country, wonder if he could be tempted to come over ? : would put the self obsessed idiots like Rob Stiles to shame.

If he could just come over and try and teach some of the Ref's in this country they are not meant to be the centre of attention on the pitch.

By far the best ref in the world! The game will miss him when he retires. He can come to the premiership next year cant he???. The age limits for refs are higher in england. He can be put in charge of those pathetic sessions of handbags between Arse nal and Fanny UTD.

Is it defo 48 in this country now? It used to be 42, but if the FA have extended it to 48 then that's a very wise move

I'd expect to see him over in some sort of role or other pretty soon.
He is greatly admired in England by the FA, supporters and proffesionals within the game.

Thought the age limit was 46 in England. There was talk last season of Collina coming over here for one year.

Difficult game to referee but he got the big decision at the end wrong. Chelsea went through on a goal that should have been disallowed. Can you imagine the pandemonium if the same thing had happened up the other end?

Cant believe That guy called JP was slagging cole off for his performance, can he stay on his feet for more than 5 seconds? he set up 2 goals and had about 20+ runs against the defence, the best chelsea attacking player on the pitch!!!!! What are u on about JP??

Disallowed for what? The Chelsea player didn't do anything wrong. Apart from hold the goalkeeper as he tried to dive conveniently letting go once the deed was done. It was clearly a foul from the close up angle camera by the goal.

Not coming over here apparently. Taking a desk job overseeing Italian referees.
Damn shame really.

What are u on about JP?? Do you ever watch Joe Cole for all the game? You will see a quality player dive (lots), Damien Duff does likewise. Watch Soccer AM and week in week out on their platoon it will feature one or both of these two. Now stop talking bollox GDS ;D
