No loyalty in Football Wiggy.... Peters doesnt think hes good enough for the wages he's on and he's been giving The Boss grief over a new contract,he'll be away at the end of the season... I just think people are so quick to forget things! Two mistakes and people are ready to rip into him and dissmiss him. There's been times when he alone has soaked up most of the pressure- look at Southend. He saved us from disgrace by holding out till the 78th minute in APPALLING weather conditions- and Peters said he didn't deserve to be on the losing side. Of course he wants a contract- he's got a wife and kids, hasn't he? I'm sure Joe would be the first to acknowledge all he's learnt from Scott. O.K- there may be undercurrents - but we CAN'T, surely, forget that, but for Scott- we wouldn't be in the League right now. O.K- I know I like him- but I've grown to like him because of what he's done for us, and his character. I don't stick up for pretty boys who are just dummies. He's earned the respect!!

If Joe Hart continues to impress then it might be him that moves on - is Dario on the look out for a Goalie?
It can't hurt to use players to their strength e.g. Joe Hart for his kicking, when there are a lot of contract negotiations to be done this year - we have had to go through the animosity when some players are on bloated wages - that's what led to Pete Whiting feeling hard done by and leaving. GP will keep and pay players according to what is best for the club - and that is best for everyone long term.

Whos' ripping into him?,I'm not.
I've just said he was diabolical on Monday, which he was,and that IMO he wont be here next season.
I've not said I think thats a good idea or that he deserves the sack .........I just think he's going to get it thats all..

if Hart is going places he will be sold for a lot of money and we will be back to finding talent again. Ian Havard is a top class young goalkeeper.

Excellent performance by Joe, 1 cracking save in the 1st half particularly. Let's give him a couple of games and see whether he can match that.
Having said that, Howie should without question be given a new contract, player of the season for me without doubt.

Scott has done an excellent job for us and his contribution to getting us promoted must never be forgotten.

Scott does own property in Norwich, but he has done for a while... Remember he used to play for them.
He told me thats where he wants to go back to when he retires....

Scott is a great keeper, and in my opinion, we would be worse off without him.
But lets not get carried away.... He didn't "single-handedly" get us back in the league!!
He helped, of course, by saving a few penalties in the play offs. but we had to get to the play offs for him to do that. Did Scott get us into the play offs single-handedly too?
on this logic, we should be getting rid of Luke, because he "single-handedly" missed a penalty at Stoke.
and I dont want to see the back of Luke.
Im a big fan of Howie, and I'd like to see him around for a good while yet.

We have had two good keepers at the same time a few times over ther years. so y not keep both ,mulearn and wardel at the same time worked realy well as one slowly over . dont know who was no two when oggy was here but there have been other years where we have had two good keepers.

No2 when Oggie was around didn't get a chance as he was ever present in his 2 seasons with us. A very young Steve Perks his chance when Oggie moved to Coventry.

I am led to believe that Scott is on VERY big money in STFC terms. To be honest he has been worth every penny.
However, GP feels that if transfer windows come in then he will need a bigger squad next season and we won't be able to afford too many players on big contracts.
It is probable that Scott will not be with us next season but that will be a reflection of the financial situation rather than his ability as a goalkeeper

It is probable that Scott will not be with us next season but that will be a reflection of the financial situation rather than his ability as a goalkeeper I put that one to GP on the Q&A and he said he didn't think it was so much a case of a bigger squad as having versatile players outside of the specialist outfield positions of Centre back and striker. I think nobody is completely out of contention - with the exception of Duane Darby - not even Sedge or Street. If Joe is made number one then a reserve keeper will need to be brought in who has a reasonable pedigree - unless I think it is a gamble. And if we get in a mess with a position like goalkeeper and not in the transfer window we could be sunk. Somebody mentioned to me yesterday that Preston signed two goalkeeprers last month - I wonder if any goalkeepers are coming to the end of their contract there?

Will history repeat itself? I believe Scott left Bristol because of the wages issue, having been the previous seasons player of the year.
GP is now in the position of being able to give Hart a run in the team to see whether he can cut it as No1.
Personally I think it's too early, but time will tell.

Howie's definitely worth at least another year 2 allow Joe Hart time 2 settle in 2 the team, so he can replace Hart when ever he does so.
Coz Hart is definitely going 2 make bad mistakes, so Howie will almost certainly play agen

I'd like to see him stay, quality keeper and done well for us.
Just cos he was dropped for one match doesn't mean he doesn't have a future, it could have been a message from GP to the whole team - no one is undropable and if you don't play well you could be out of the team,

I think/hope he will stay as there seems to be a serious case of the king is dead, long live the king, going on here amongst town fans. I rate and admire Joe Hart immensly but as someone else said he will make mistakes and Scott will play again. Personally would like to see Joe get another season to bed in before handing him the jersey on a permanent basis!
