Hi
How much to get in at Gay Meadow these days (terrace)?
And do you have to buy in advance or can you just turn up and pay at the turnstile?

sadly when the inevitable price rise does come next year to £14 or whatever, all we will hear is people moaning.
i hope some of them realise that even £14 will be amongst the cheapest in the League and that the £12 was maintinaed as a thankyou for a season.

indeed.
You are right.
However one of the reasons i suspect we have very cheap prices is because of the "facilities" we endure in the process.
Also they couldnt put the prices up thsi season, after p**sing off so many town fans last season by keeping the prices the same (and yes i know all the stuff about wages and investing, so that we could get out blahblahblah).
£14 to stand in the basement division does seem quite pricey.
Any idea what price standing is at Kiddie, cmbridge etc?
Maybe put a £1 on ticket prices?

Incidentally it costs £14 to sit in the Wakeman or £15 in the Centre Stand.
20 years ago prices were more like £2 ground £4 stand £5 centre stand.
Why does anybody bother standing at GM for the sake of two or three quid? Much better view and more comfortable in the stand.

Go to most away games in this league this season and the average is £15 upwards.

Hi Basil, do you remember my Dad?
He was in 'Commandos Strike At Dawn' with you and Anna Neagle, I have a photo of the 3 of you together.
The film is on TCM occasionally, do you get royalties?

Coward Shrew, I prefer to stand because I have so many friends I like to see on match days. It's far easier to get round the terraces to see them than when you are in a stand. Mind you friends wouldn't be a concept you would know much about would it.

You should stand every opportunity you get - sitting at the match just isn't the same. If you're someone who enjoys everything that goes with being on a terrace, then the move to sitting every week is a painful adjustment to make.

I know a lot of Chelsea fans were well impressed when we played them in the Cup. Crap ground but we can stand behind the goal, was one comment I remember from there messageboard.

In our first year up in the Prem, away fans got about 1,000 tickets for the enclosure and every away fan you spoke to said how excited they were about standing again or how much they'd enjoyed the experience.
The minute you go to all-seater, you lose track of people who've stood around you for years, and if you end up with some idiot(s) sitting behind you, there's obviously nowt you can do about it - as you no doubt know from away games. One week's okay, but if you end up sitting in front of an idiot for the whole season - hard work! Enjoy the fluidity and atmosphere of your terraces whilst you can.

The all seated concept just does not work. On the limited occasions when I have been seated at football grounds or concerts, people always stand when the critical moments occur. I just don't get it. At the playoff final in Stoke some dope decided to stand on his seat in front of us. He would have stayed there all through the match except that fortunately someone! pushed him off. He obviously was unable to comprehend the fact that those behind could'nt see.

£12 reflects the fact we must be in the worst ground in the league in terms of facilities
if you take
1) Toilets 2) Food and Drink 3) The general state of repair
Then we were put to shame by most clubs last year, let alone back in the league
It is a great ground and I do love it, but my goodness when you take the blue and amber tinted spectacles off it really is a dive
£14 for the New Meadow is not too far away from my expectation, but whacking it up to £16 or whatever would not be a good idea at all
I personally love terraces, it just does not feel the same sitting down, but it is not going to happen
