Hmmmmm, still doesn't ring a bell It has a kind of inside courtyard at the back, with stairs immediately in front of you as you enter. Oh and it has flowerboxes outside. Thanks again!

Deffo the Castle Vaults - was called Brady's Bar (horrible Irish Theme Bar) which attracted a few undesirables for a while but has had a make over back to a decent place again now I believe...

No worries Researcher! Enjoy your real ale!!
Indeed you're quite right - the legend that was Steve Cross was indeed part of the great 78/79 team that did Man City, got to the quarters of the FA Cup , Champs of Div 3 (League 1 New money)... oh and won the Welsh Cup.... ;D Those were the days!!!

It's not quaint now, its like a trendy bar type, pretty awful. Marginally better than Bradys was mind. Go to the Admiral Benbow instead.

Not a bad thing in my opinion as he was the Ryan Lowe of that great squad.

I was going to point this out earlier but thought it was a bit too pedantic He was probably sub (I have not checked), but he played in the last 10/12 games that season, after Turner got injured.
