You could actually remove Man United from the title of the thread and replace them with Arsenal

Threw everything at Palace today and they even had a 99% possession thing on the screen. It was one of those days when it wouldn't go in. I watched the Chelsea game and it looked like if they would drop points when ex-Posh Leon McKenzie scored an equaliser at 1-1. But Chelsea scored 8mins later with a lovely touch by Gudjohnsen which allowed Lampard to set Kezman to score a rare goal. Carvalho added the third. United don't have this killer instinct anymore. Chelsea are a clas above this year. And yes, they will beat Barça. PS: Barça won today at Osasuna 0-1, Eto'o!!!

Just to add Roy Keane scored a perfectly good goal but the lino gave offside. I think that may even things up with the Spurs goal that never was at Old Trafford Funny how these things even themselves out over a season

Rooney, Saha, Van Nistelrooy, Alan Smith, Giggs and Ronaldo.
if they haven't got the killer instinct now God help them.
They've still won something like 15 of their last 17 games.
And i back them to get a result in Milan, whether or not (they'll keep it tight at the back and prevent Milan scoring is a different matter)

Similiar case to what happened against Bayern 3 or 4 years ago.
Bayern won in OT 0-1 and scored twice early in Munich. Utd pulled one back but too little too late.
My bet for the return is that it will be 1-1 with Milan scoring in the first 10 and Giggs equalising with 30mins to go.

I wonder if the Man Utd fans are still celebrating kung-fu kicks tonight?

I wonder if the Man Utd fans are still celebrating kung-fu kicks tonight? Man Utd are the gloss paint of the premiership. It doesn't matter how thickly you lay it on there's still no guarantee of a decent finish

if you're going to discuss Manchester United, at least learn to spell first. It's "class" and "Ferguson"..
"Rooney, Saha, Van Nistelrooy, Alan Smith, Giggs and Ronaldo.
if they haven't got the killer instinct now God help them"
However, I have to kind of agree with that.

Smith Saha Rooney (long term repalcement for Scholes???) Van Nistelrooy Ronaldo
Thats getting on for £75million pound of attacking players
And that doesnt include Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes who came from within.
Then there's Ferdinand,Silvester, the argie, Carrol and Howard and thats another £40+ million.
Fecking hell!!! Thinking about it the side cost a fortune to put together and still looks a bit unballanced at times.
Not to mention the facts that they will have spend shead loads more replacing the influential figures of Scholes and Giggs and getting in a new keeper....probably.
And there was me thinking Fergie had no more transfer money to spend...

Agree with some of HMA's points on this. If you look at United's main spending over the past couple of years you see the following:
2001 = Van Nistelrooy £19m, Veron £28m (remember him?) 2002 = Ferdinand £30m 2003 = Ronaldo £12m, Kleberson £6m, Forlan £7m 2004 = Smith £6m, Rooney £20m, Heinze £7m, Saha £13m
Adds up to a total of £148m on 10 players.
Not just Chelsea who can be accused of trying to buy their success is it ?

kind of comforting for the game as a whole that you can't buy success (ish). Real Madrid out, Arse out, Man U out ....
team spirit is the answer - not big money big name players ... it's about playing for the badge (whichever badge and fans you're representing).
As far as Milan and Ferguson were involved (and the Palace match for that matter) he made the criminal mistake of playing a big name (albeit fantastic) player who'd been out for 3 months - not a single reserve game under his belt. How must that effect the team spirit amongst the team that 'cattle-trucked' Arsenal' by hard work, focus, commitment, working for each other being cast aside for the big name who walzes straight back in.
This is no attack on Ruud, who was always going to take about 4 games to get back in to the swing of things (fear Fulham, fear ...) .. but it wasn't right to give him his match practice against one of European's finest (and a premiership dog-fight at a ground that MUFC have a terrible away record at).
p.s. Up the Shrews!
