Real shame that. It would have been a real confidence booster to come away with a result. After his good solid performances over the last two games, to make a slip like that at the end ..... Never mind - at least England only managed two (and before any comments come in - well done).

Sadly, Wales can not now qualify, comisserations to the peg selling winger who deserved at least one trip to a major finals

... was at the Wales match
Feel sorry for Coyne.. made 2 fab saves and being an Englishman who supports Scotland, hand on heart, Wales should have won 4-1 and whatever people say about John Toshack, he can be proud of their performance
All the balme should be on Belamy and not the goalkeeper - as he missed chances to score
what is worse - a goalkeeping howler like Coyne's or a striker blazing one over the bar ..??

?? Its not like supporting a club? Surely if you're English, you're England??! sorry was influenced as a young boy by seeing England being beat four at Wrexham and then see Davie Cooper in action for Scotland in the Home Internationals - enough said !! When it mattered England failed to qualify for Argentina 1978 and in Spain 1982 England did nothing anyway. I was David Nary in the playground. Then from my work have enjoyed many a foreign trip with the Tartan Army whilst when Im with England, see so many scraps, fights, guys there for scrapping that I disassociate from it all. Get hassle from passport control, police etc - treated like dirt Even wore a Scotland shirt when I did Eng v Scot at Wembley when Gazza scored that wonder goal I have English blood but Scotland is in my heart - Im probably unique and will get laughed at by Jamo but dont care.

I agree that wales deserved to win that game. To answer your question though, in the context of the game, 0-0 at the time and with time running down, the howler was worse I couldnt believe the amount of chances Wales contrived to miss.......staggering, though the Austrian Keeper was on form....
