I have been known to stand at the Wakeman End on occasions - there used to be a plaque on the wall at the back there describing it as the "Cecil Duffill Terrace."
Anybody know anything about this chap and why the terrace was named after him? I don't think he was player but I might be wrong.
There must be some club historian out there with the full gen .....

A question that comes up regularly.
It is in "Breathe on em Salop", but from memory he was Chairman of the Supporters Club, and they paid for the new terrace and gave it his name in the late 1950's

Is'nt it Cedric Duffill? He must have invented a coat or summat! It gets pretty cold at that end when the draught from the early leavers is whipped up.
