I can't believe how quickly the football season seems to come around.
No doubt the pluses of the summer for me are:
- Play lots of golf - Save some money
What about everyone else? Are you looking forward to a break from footie or not? Has anyone got much planned for the summer?

I think I'll enjoy a summer break from football if we stay up...not so sure if things go pear shaped...
Mind you, Kickers play until June and then we have the Confederations Cup to look forward to over here in Germany...so not much of a break anyhows...

One guess as to what I'll be up to ;D Yep yesterday I finally got my last consol skydive in I am no longer a student skydiver I now in just 24 jumps have my 'A' licence Its going to be a very expensive year I have to buy a parachute, helmet, jumpsuit, and various other equipment, there is a weeks Boogie (skydivers gathering) in Nottingham in May and another in Karlovy Vary (Czech) in August as this is my first year in the sport I'll be (hopefully) hitting alot of training targets all of which result in beer being bought

I like the few weeks break- it gives us fans time to work up an appetite for a brand new season- in a non World Cup/ Euro Finals year I almost like to avoid any talk of footy in the Summer. But I hope the various B&A organised 5asides carry on. Tennis will be a big substitute for me. I know I could get hooked on golf very easily- I ve had a go in the past but it is a big time commitment for me at the moment

I am looking forward to having more Saturdays to myself I may even do some work in the garden then my fiance is back for the Summer so i'll be spending quite a bit of time with her I too am well up for keeping the B&A games going - i think it is an important way of meeting other towns fans, having a laugh, and in the summer sun it is that much more fun! This weekend has had three sporting highlights for me 1) B&A footie 2) B&A curry 3) England match those have to be weighed against 1) Friday Night 2) Monday afternoon basically the summer means we can enjoy everything there is enjoy as a shrewsbury fan, friendships, shared love of the same sport, social events etc etc without having to suffer the life sentence of doom and disappointment that is watching this woeful standard of football It will be nice ot have a bit more money as well, weekend driving to places like Lincoln with no reward whatsoever takes its toll on the bank balance and there really are better things to spend it on

Were 6 points above getting relegated and were talking about what were going to be doing in the summer! I'm bl00dy worried especially given the fact that the last 3 games have been truely awful-where are the goals going to come from? ? If we go down this time theres going to be no coming back. Look at our run in: Oxford (H) Cheltenham (A) Rochdale (A) Notts Cty (H) Swansea (Last game at the Vetch) Sc***horpe (H) If we play like we did yesterday I'd be suprised to pick up anything from those games-Notts County are still scrapping away, Oxford & Rochdale are fairly solid teams aand have both beaten us this season. Cheltenham have improved a great deal since August, Scunny should be promoted by the last day they may even still be in the hunt for the title and theres no way were going to beat Swansea at the Vetch in front of an army of partying Swansea fans! The summer can wait-WERE NOT SAFE YET! Time to stop relying on teams below us slipping up-i'll be damned if were going to see a repeat of 2002/2003. I d'ont care who you are, what you do, where you live (Didcot, Hull, the South Pole) be there against Oxford and for god sake dont just stand there like normal-make some noise!!!
