Not only are most of the pubs home fans only (including 'the Rover' near the rugby ground despite someone saying away fans were allowed in there) me and Taffy then make our way to the Hungry Horse pub, only for some smug looking doorman refusing us entry because we 'walked across the car park in a funny way and looked a bit shifty', hmmm if the EBF wear replica shirts and blue anti bullying wristbands then I'd like to see it I hope they go up because I cant stand going to that excuse for a ground or the unwelcoming pubs around it, I hate to say it but going to places like that doesnt exactly fill me with confidence about the NM.

I personally had no problems. Thought it was a decent ground and the pubs around weren't too bad. We always play rubbish at Sixfields though

and it cost me 9.50 to get my seven year old daughter in, where in various other sides of the ground it only cost kids 4.00 or 6.00 pounds.

I think Northampton have got it spot on with Sixifields
An excellent set-up especially with the ahtletics club at the back of the ground where the players can train and do fitness work etc...

I was impressed- tidy ground and excellent playing surface. Good location/infrastructure- I didnt rush out at the end, was on the motorway in no time and back in Ironbridge by 6.20

It would be nice to be able to park at the New Meadow. Maybe we could use the 20% of 26 acres to park our cars there?....

I mentioned the Rover, but a Northampton fan did post later that it was home fans only The Sixfields was fine - good beer, food and plenty of Town fans. Best part of the day, unfortunately

Not only are most of the pubs home fans only (including 'the Rover' near the rugby ground despite someone saying away fans were allowed in there) Perhaps your best bet next time is to read the messages home fans leave days before the game advising that it was home only

Nice Ground? I have never been to such a dire, soleless arena in my life. Despite the fact its a 90's ground parts of the away end were already showing signs of decay, cr@p fans, annoying PA team that sounded like breakfast radio duo, cr@p surrondings (ohh another ground in a retail park-goodie ), offensive locals-as Schizo mentioned above horrible, looking ground, no atmosphere and to cap it all the bone-crushing realisantion that the we witnessed yesterday was probably a fair representation of what the NM will be like-Great! .....and then there was the way we 'played' To say the least not a great day out

I disagree - if you think NM will be better you're going to be disappointed I reckon. No modern stadia have much atmosphere and the construction is better than most. The pitch was very good for this time of year too.

AS a Cobblers fan perhaps I could make some comment. The Rover allowing only home fans I can understand since it has previously been a battleground on more than one occasion. The Tavern is as rightly said also for home fans but there are three other watering holes in that locality which I understand accomodate away fans. AS to the ground this was originally provided by the Council but the club has recently taken on a long lease and proposes to make significant improvements to the ground and surrounding area much of which is designed to provide financial stability and security.

why not call it quits now, at least there would be a little money left over in the bank to give to charity, our fans are useless, our present ground is a dump. our new ground will be a new dump, our board could be on the take allededly. we have not got one good player. so why bother

i personally dont like sixfields, no atmosphere at most times and it does lack character like the older grounds in the league. And also the PA system is shockingly s**te.
Its not that bad though as the cons are equalled by the pros, there are not many other grounds that can boast the road links we do, not many teams have the athletics track and all the acres of land that are soon to be developed...and it only cost us a pound

It should also be remembered that the Cobblers were playing on a cricket ground car-park with a kids meccano set as a stand before moving so even the Deva would be a step forwards. How unlike us

Both of us had short shaved haircuts, but we both wore replica shirts, not the usual designer clobber you would associate with your average troublemaker.
