As a typical kid in the early 70's, I remember hiding behind the settee and cushions and being scared to death by the Daleks. I thought tonights New Series was excellent (sad I Know ) Anyone have any thoughts of the new series or am I the only saddo

No Bilbo your not alone, i thought it was excellent, cant wait till next week now, must say i was a bit concerned with the new doctor not being up to scratch but he seems to fit the bill perfectly...
Well done the BBC Saturday night television just got a thousand times better!

Original Dr Who was excellent, always had a pillow in front of my face, even used to put my fingers in my ears at the end cos the music used to scare me Remember once on a family holiday in Barmouth , they had one of those Dalek sit in machines (put in 5p and it bobs back and foreward), and my mum had to cross the road with me to get past it cos i was so scared

I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I was a little disappointed that the BBC effects budget only ran to using a wheelie bin for a dalek. Did anyone else notice?

Not quite what I was expecting, but the first one was really just a "get the characters together".
I'll give it a few weeeks yet, but love the update on the intro!
As for the youth of today. While watching the manekins Mitchell asks......"So how's The Doctor going to save the day?" Guess no cowering behind the sette in this house!

Hit just about the right balance of humour, wackiness, silly aliens and a pert young assistant
