What a find! I thought Andy Wilkinson was brilliant last night, solid, committed and a tidy player, he got my vote for Man of the Match last night by a mile.

He's an excellent player very unlikely Stoke would let him go though .

Once he settled down he did well. I'd like to see him play on the wing though.

Funny how people see things differrently. I thought he had a shocker first half. He got pulled out of position too many times and sooner or later that will cost you. Having said that, I still think he is a very useful acquistion. But agree that I would like to see him on the wing, Whitehead back at right back and Tinno back where he belongs.

The thing about wilkinson is that he is young and he is quick
No doubt he;ll have GP sit him down and talk to him about "zones" on the pitch and we'll see him staying back a bit more often

My impression is that he is hard takling, not affraid to mix it, hard working and has a fair bit of skill. Now all GP has to do is turn him into a good footballer. All the ingredients are there, now all he needs is a chef. I havent had any breakfast yet, is my mind sending me signals ;D

His pace is a bonus, but he did seem to get pulled out of position a few times, either going forward, or into the middle of the defence.
It will be interesting to see him up against a decent winger, which Cambridge certainly lacked. I am sure Roberts and Bramble would love some decent crosses. Where was Tudor ?

S&Rs' point is spot on about him not tracking back that worried me several times last night and needs sorting.
Otherwise very impressed, strong tackler, good distribution and plenty of speed.
He has to learn however that the game is still being played after hes released the ball and cover his defensive position much quicker than he did last night.
7 out of 10 with plenty of potential..........

I remember one incident last night where we sprung a counter attack in the second half.
Wilkinson started it on the edge of our box, and by the time it for Tolley to put the cross in about 6 seconds later he was on the Cambridge penalty spot challenging for the header!
He didn't get it and was then horribly out of position as Cambridge counter attacked down the left.
If he wants to get forward then we should stick Whithead back at right back and get him on the right wing where his pace will cause problems but with less defensive liability.

I thought he unsettled both centre backs as they didn't know where he'd charge off next.

It will be interesting to see him up against a decent winger Martin Smith on Monday, there is no better left winger in the division.

Looks a very good acquisition. Garbage last night though. Positionally he was p**s poor. A better side would have punished us first half. Whitehead right back and Tinno centre half please GP
