I personally don't get all this leaving early nonsense. Droves of fans are not leaving early at all I think people are just jockeying for position and looking to make a quick at the end. It's very noticable to those of us who stand on the Wakeman that there is very little room around the longer the game goes on.

i can#t believe this but i am agreeing with Jamo people do leave early to miss all the traffic, but when the games evenly poised like last night i can't understand it myself.

Absolutley spot on Jamo, I am one of the guilty ones that "leave early" just because i leave my spot in the riverside does not mean i go straight to the exit gate, i usually watch the last 5 mins from the corner of the wakeman end, not everyone lives within walking distance of the ground, i go round there just to get a quick at the final whistle so as not to get caught up in the traffic, and get back to Bridgnorth

I agree with jamo here. I usually make my way round from the Riverside to watch the final few minutes from the corner of the Wakeman End. This can make 20/30 minutes difference to the time I get home.
It makes a big difference getting home at 12.30 as opposed to 1 am.
Last night I stayed on the Riverside until the final whistle as Shrewforever was driving. When people started moving round I kept my eye on the area of the ground between the edge of the Wakeman Terracing and the exit.
I saw hardly anyone entering this area until the final whistle and certainly not with 10+ minutes to go.

From where I stand on the Wakeman End (at the corner of the school) it is quite noticeable that the Riverside just empties with about 5 - 10 minutes to go but most people don't actually leave, they merely mingle into the wakeman end, especially by the buffet corner. Last night was a prime example, I didn't see hardly a soul walk out of the ground until the final whistle. One thing that really miffs me is that last night they gave the crowd as 5,730! MY ARSE.. It was packed, plus Cambridge must have brought getting on for 400....I've been there long enough to know that there was a lot more there than that.. Why do they do it? If the good people of Shrewsbury saw that we were getting crowds of up to 7000 (like last night) then I am positive more would come. It might sound daft but if people saw that more people were attending the games it would encourage even more through the gates..

Blum, I seem to recall a certain regular of this board questioning an attendance figure and then a couple of employees of STFC spoke up. Its best to keep quiet on attendances

We didn't leave early, and by the time we got out of the car park and back to Copthorne it was gone 22.30.
We had a cup of cofffee and got the kids changed for the journey home and bed, did the Easter Egg thing and stacked the car.
We walked in the door at 00.45 then had to unload the kids and car, then resettle the kids before getting them to bed. We finally hit the sack at 01.45.
That's why some people leave early, and if they choose to do so they should be allowed to. I know that others have other reasons that may be a bit less significant. But then, after all isn't 75-80 minutes of support (and entrance fees) from some better than none at all?

It LOOKS as if people are leaving early, this has been explained gawd knows how many times before, everyone has to go through ONE exit, when we are at the NM although some will still have! to leave early. it won't look so dramatic. There was more of a shift round at half time last night, plus a bigger crowd means more on the move of course.

I thought the crowd figure was about right, and I moved round to the Wakeman End with 5 mins to go, with lots of others. Once we are in a 10,000 all seater the ground will look half empty all the time, so a few people going early will not be noticable. They will just annoy the rest of the people on their row

From where i sit in the wakeman stand, i didnt notice any mass exodus.
I looked with less than 10 mins to go, i tend to now after the recent critisism, and saw only the odd one or two moving towards the exit.
There is a marked shift towards the wakeman end from the riverside, but thats not a bad thing is it, considering our players are usually trying to score at that end.
Slightly O/T but i thought the crowd overall (riverside sung well, but cambridge IMO outsung us) was rather quiet and subdued, could be nerves, but then if we are edgy, who can blame the team for being nervous. I know it may sound obvious but a goal ever way last night would have changed the whole atmosphere and the way the game was played

Yes perhaps it was the crowd getting a bit edgy, but thats when we needed to be making more noise and get behind the team. Noticed there seemed to be more noise from the wakeman stand than normal too last night, or perhaps it just seemed like that cos the riverside were so quiet.

If I stay stood on the Riverside until the final whistle then I get back up town by around 5:15, missing my bus. I make my way to the Wakeman buffet a couple of minutes before the end and then clear off a few seconds after the final whistle. I get up town by about 5 and I do catch my bus.

disastrous Nebraska was one of the Bruces finest album so do not give up on him yet. The core band here features only Springsteen on guitar, Brendan O'Brien on bass and Steve Jordan (Steely Dan, Keith Richards) on drums. On the plus side, its available on vynil Touring acoustically this summer The thing about the Boss is he is always challenging you
