Mike Sheron was absolutly dreadful tonight andon that showing you would of been better of keeping J.Grant, wheras Iwan Roberts was quality, held the ball up,won it in the air, laid it of to a team mate (not to the opposition like Sheron) great control and always seemed like he time on the ball. Overrall he was my man of the match by a long way on either side.

I didn't notice iwan roberts to be honest. Both teams were poor up front. Cambridge had little or nothing to offer whilst Duncan and Gleeson did an excellent job on Rodgers.

2 different players all together.
At every club he's been to Mike Sheron has played off a big man. Iwan Roberts does a big mans job.
Sorry Phil but its daft to compare these two, you might aswell compare Beckham with Robinson and ask who's the better keeper ffs

A Town fan said to me at HT Phil , if Iwan was playing for us the ball would have stuck up front , Sheron was nothing special last week at Lincoln either, however Iwan or Langmead ummm well you were there i knew you would be Langmead for me anyday

Maybe Gary Peters should listen to you and put Sheron with Langmead instead of Rodgers?

Playing King. Kelv and Sheron toghether would leave our attacking options lacking pace and thus ineffective.

Yes they play upfront but Sheron plays off a big striker, like Rodgers does, like Bramble did for them...he played off Roberts. Its either what your best at or its not.
I prefer Langmead and Rodgers, but at the mo we just need anyone to score

In the second half we looked much more effective. Time after time Langmead's flick on's produced an attacking threat

Can't disagree with that Duncan Like i have said before Langmead looks a good player just needs to score more regularly imo. Sheron just looked very very poor

I'd like too see all three together up front, right handful, Sheron hasn't been playing for quite a while, unlike Roberts, he picked up a championship medal last year, he faded far quicker than I expected. Kelvin sems to be carrying an injury, which is the reason I expect he didn't start up front with Luke tonight.

Comparing Roberts and Sheron IS daft. Yes they're both old pros, but then so are Shearer and Keown - the point is, the fact they're old pros is a bout all they've got in common. Sheron is NOT a target man, but unfortunately for him he was being used as one for the first 45. Just because he was the bigger of the two strikers (by default), doesn't make him a hulking ball-winner. We won't see the best out of him if we don't give him the ball to feet. Given the dearth of talent in central midfield, we may be waiting quite a while. Agree that Roberts looked a quality target man though, although his teammates were less than quick to follow him up.

Langmead earned a stonewall penalty second half
when langmead plays up front the ball sticks, and we need that
our forward play second half was infinitely better

Roberts had an excellent first 10 minutes. He then drifted totally out of the game.

Agree that Sheron was poor but no way was Roberts man of the match. He got taken off after an hour for christ sake by which time he was contributing nothing to the Cambridge cause.
