The GM is pretty awful from an acoustics point of view. Most noise is generated in the Riverside but the steep terrace and close roof deaden much of its effect (good idea with some of the bo**ocks that is chanted :-[0. The open Wakeman End is also hopeless as the incredibly vast amount of noise generated by those vociferous fans on home match days can hardly be heard from even 10 feet away at the end of the Riverside ;D The drum in the Wakeman Stand can hardly be heard across the pitch so hit it harder The NM should be designed with a view to maximising crowd noise. Home fans should have three and a half sides of the ground including behind both goals so we are always attacking a goal with our fans shouting at the keeper. And there needs to be a loud and crisp PA system to blast out announcements, scores etc.

You are correct about the acoustics at the meadow not being the most enhancing. I stand on the wakeman i think the most we ever manage are: 1. Dodgy Keeper. 2. Come on you blues. 3. Its just like watching Brazil (1 chorus v Kiddy) I honestly can't think of any other chant, and those we do are rare. Perhaps it's because were all 95 years old ? On the subject of chants at the Macc game the boys on the riverside never once slagged Telford, me an Fatbobsbelly normally time it and it starts on average after approx 13 mins. Anyway i digress you are totally correct about acoustics at the NM, anybody asked the Club what they are doing about the issue ?

I stand on the Wakeman when the weather is good and the acoustics are so bad I can't hear myself shouting Also, if you stand to the left of the goal you can't hear the Riverside (which is one advantage )
