How much did you pay for you first game at the Gay Meadow?
3 shillings for me - Rotherham 1970.

A shilling converted to 5p
20 shillings in a pound 12 pennies in a shilling
math was a bugger as a kid
Something cost 2 pound four and six, what's the change from a fiver?
Can you imagine the lines at McDonalds if we hadn't gone to metric and the tills weren't automatic ;D

Can't remember the entry fee v Scarboro (Midland league) 1946 or 7, think the programme was 3d and the raffle, tickets sold in the narrows were 1d, prizes - Whisky, nylons, cigarettes. My first season ticket was just after Arthur Rowley arrived, won in a Daily Express comp.

Programmes were still 3d in 1963 - 16 years later! But by 1966 they had doubled in price
