Nothing I wanted to watch on TV last night so watched Meadow Memories again It really is a quality production and we are so fortunate to have a history of the club as good as this If anyone still hasnt seen it its a must! Is there any chance of it being brought up to date or is it too expensive and time consuming ?

I would second that Perhaps it could be changed from video to DVD at the same time

I'm not criticisng or having a dig at the people who made it, as it is a quality production.
But is there any reason why there wasnt much footage of matches? the big Fa Cup ones and some of the old league games. I onlky ask because it'd have been nice to see some footage of the previous generations heroes...
Or was it to expensive?

The original cut of Meadow Memories was a whopping 7 hours... there was so much edited out after interviewing so many players
The idea was to sell out (!!!!!!!) then do Meadow Memories II on the FA Cup runs with it being more of a football video rather than a documentary, still have the pre-production plans but its money
Still have digital footage of Cambridge, Man City and Wolves in 79 - but its time and money
Id sincerely LOVE to put it on DVD as myself and Adam spent so much time in London re-colour balancing and improving some of the footage... BUT I need to sell at least 500-ish and I dont think I would... look how many play off DVDs are left in the club shop
as for a follow up - I wouldnt consider doing one for at least another 5 years as we are going through an important time right now

But its a bit of a different proposition - lets see how the highlight one from last seasoan sells. That's a similarish type of thing.

Everyone I know who's got it just fast forwards to the penalties. I'd buy a DVD if I knew that there was going to be a lot of town action/goals on it. I felt Meadow Memories was a good documentary, but lacked actual action. Also one point to make (and my only criticism) was that the music was too sedate and often too loud on the soudntrack. It made it sound like a TV melodrama about a housewife with an incurable disease at times. It was a shame really because the interviews were fascinating and you could see the work that had gone into it. BTW did anyone else think Ian McNeill looked like Yoda?

Put someone talking and its dry and boring, put some fast guitars behind and its exciting, put some chilling piano chords behind and thats when the tears come into your eyes. It was produced with emotion in mind. I cocked up the Graham Turner interview - sorry ! The film was a documentary and not a match of the day highlights package. Its told a story anyway thanks for the comments, I thought most people had forgotten about this now !

One question Matt (I think the video is great and know a guy who hasn't seen Town for years but spent his youth watching them at home who thinks it is fantastic): Is the Dave Walton/Tony Kelly interviews meant to have dodgy sound? There are bits when the sounds goes totally - or have I just got a poor copy? Cheers

not at all going past dinkys dinah was just as important as picking up a club captain from a service station.. and there were no pile ups, air ambulance landings, fox hunts or festivals in the area to create traffic problems

Its told a story anyway thanks for the comments, I thought most people had forgotten about this now ! I think that music in its place is great. But the same pieces are used repeatedly and at times they are a bit loud when you're trying to hear an interview. I'm not syaing be dry and boring, I'm just saying that using music indiscriminately robs it of its power. Sorry if I caused you any offence by saying that.
