This seems to be something that raises its head as a gripe every so often so i thought I would pose the question. I think they are very very similar, except a slight movement of the colour change in the sleeves, which is obviously where the seam is. The badge is different but I don;t know how you could have got a blue oval like that anyway? I don't know. There is a bit of blue on the front of the collar too, but it doesn't detract IMO Discuss Does look like This is not a question of the material, or the quality or anything, but just a basic question, Did we get what we asked for? The top one is an artists impression and then what MG sportswear made of it. I think we did but what do you think?

No we didn't get what we voted for - and nor should we have done. But it should have had less blue on it not more. I remember saying when we were voting on it - there's too much blue. So when I saw the mock-up that Sib had I noticed that there was even more blue. Sib agreed, "I think the board will reduce the amount of blue" she said. Didn't happen. Oh, and please let the new home shirt be a v-neck because as the Tolley photo proves - MG can't do collars.

surely less blue would have looked quite a lot different to a bit more blue?
it would have been a white shirt, not a blue and white shirt?

It's pretty similar.
However there are a couple opf differences.
Ornage is use instead of amber.
The blue is missing behind the badge.

All white would have been OK and is a popular away colour. The point I am trying to make is that this design should not have been shortlisted.

Aye...that's the thing int it with the way the designs are selected, not too sure the current process is the best (although it is a vast improvement in that it is possible for us supporters to have a say in the design).
I guess it still concerns me that the majority of the supporters may not be getting what they want. The three kits are chosen by some folk at the club who I have no doubt have no intention of buying or wearing the shirt...that then limits the choice of the supporter and it could be the lesser of three poor kits.
I just think it would be better to provide a sheet that could be used to ask supporters what colours (as this still seems to be unsure for home as well as away) they would prefer (for example, for the home kit...blue and white or blue and amber). Then a choice of designs could be chosen...
All blue and amber\white trim (as we have today) Blue and amber\white halves Blue and amber\white quarters Blue and amber\white 'Ajax' Blue and amber\whites sleeves
...etc, etc...
Supporters would also include there name, address etc to stop them voting more than the once and they could be put in a draw to win the new shirt. From the information you get from that you would know what design the majority of supporters would want...just count up the number from the feedback given. From that you could then approach the kit manufacturer to provide to the club the design the majority of supporters want (i.e. we would like blue and amber hoops). I do not think supporters are that concerned with the finer details, I just think they want to see the colours and basic design they want to see as the shirt (i.e. for me blue and amber stripes...whether it be a round neck, v-neck I'm not concerned...the most important thing is blue and amber stripes). I guess this sort of process could also work for the away kit?

Green is a fairly unpopular colour in the Western World as it is often seen as a bad luck colour - contrasting with the many asian sides that sport green - it being the colour of Islam.
I like green/white stripes - like Real Betis.
It was indeed a strange design for the board to shortlist - we had this debate last year with many of us saying how we'd never wear it - we never wore the last one and that was all white.

an interesting point is how many we have actually sold.
we did pretty well from the play off final I believe, yet how many tiems have our team actually worn it?
It was sad to have the play off shirt and then not wear it then and not wear it after
i can only think of two games when we have actually worn it

Which is a worry given that it has over a year left.

That white kit was see through and had a constricting round collar. And it was see-through. The white kit before that was good. Except the collars were usually not straight.

Stutty mentioned in his report that the club could choose a Nike design for our new away shirt in 2006, maybe this could boost the sales a little?
I'd also like to know when Nike STFC training gear will be available, I see some people in the crowd (who probably have something to do with the centre of excellence I guess) wearing Nike managers coats with the loggerheads on.....

here is the deal.. we play in blue - so when we go away we change shirts if the opposition has blue.. DOH !! our away kit is blue too !!!! Hence we wear red. Thus fans dont see the meadow men in the said kit, cant identify with it and dont buy it. Ajax red and white or AC Milan red and black red top and black shorts in the mid 80s - them were the days - as were all red in the 70s like Liverpool
