Not been to the cinema for ages, but I've revived an old obsession in 'Donnie Darko' over the Xmas period, superb film.

White Noise is really good, got talking to a medium who was in watching it last night he says he's used EVP in the past and experienced an aggressive contact
The Aviator is superb it is quite long but (unlike Alexander) certainly didnt feel like its 170+ minutes

Saw Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark t'other night on telly. Although Thai subtitles do slightly ruin it....they are all squiggly and...well they take up half the screen.

I saw National Treasure - and totally enjoyed it - not the best film by any means - but just a good 'switch off and suspend reality' type bit of nonsense!!!!

VERA DRAKE is meant to be absolutly class! it is by a British director called Mike Leigh, and very recently it swept the board at the British film awards and is now being tipped for oscars. (best film, best director, best actress)
dont be put off by the depressing story line - the acting and directorial style will be the best u see this year.
im afraid because cineworld is s**te they will not be showing what will be one of the best british films this decade, so if u are interested the only place in shrewsbury that are showing it is the fancy little one screener in the square... i think it starts FEB 9th (but dont qoute me on that)
GO WATCH IT! IT WILL NOT DISAPOINT!

If you like creepy films then go and find 'Dark Water' it's a japenese horror (Ring, the grudge etc) and is so spooky you'll have to leave the lights on!!
Catch the original before the yanks make their version of it which is due out later this year

Shrewsbury is lucky that there is a secondary facility that can cater for the less mainstream film even if you do have to wait its better than nothing However we are getting 'Million Dollar Baby' (Clint Eastwoods new film with Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman) on Friday which also comes very highly rated 'Closer' is also extremely good
