I heard the tune at the end, but by then I hadn't listening to what they were saying. Any history to that tune used?

It seems the Geordies have a song for almost every player. Andy O'Brien's is based on "Any old iron", my own favourite is Shola Ameobi's based on the "hokey cokey" although I wasn't aware who did the original of "you're a useless carthorse" for Bramble

Apparently they think it's their song It is BLAYDON RACES I went to Blaydon races, twas on the ninth of June. Eighteen hundred and sixty two on a summer's afternoon. I the bus from Balmbras, and she was heavy laden. Away we went alang Collingwood Street, that's on the road to Blaydon. Oh me lads, ye should've seen w' gannin. Passin the folks alang the road, just as they were stannin. Aal the lads and lasses there. Aal wi' smilin faces. Gannin alang the Scotswood Road, to see the Blaydon Races.

Preferably positive! I think it must be very encouraging for a player to hear supporters sing "his" song. We've got one for Super Sammy- and we chant "Ryan Lowe, Lowe, Lowe, Lowe Lowe" Luke had plenty of songs- but what does he do? Collect red cards! What about the others- who would benefit most from a song? (Sorry I've gone off track- Yes- Blaydon Races- original Geordie Song- used to learn it as a traditional English folk song, at school!)
