nil nil at half time. I have a feeling Yeading are going to get a replay here. Without Shearer in the team Newcastle are awful up front. They get so many chances every game and miss the lot time and time again. Come on Yeading!

What sort of team have the Arse put out, another youth team I guess? Newcastle have a very strong squad out there today but it's no good if you can't score a goal.

ah well, Newcastle managed to escape with a 2-0 in the end. Still very well played by Yeading mind.
And as a side note, I have never ever seen a worse striker than Craig Bellamy in my life. Just how many shots does the donkey need to get a goal these days?

Bellamy is very much like Huckerby, amazingly quick and sets up lots of chances for others. Half his problem is that he tries to be too showy, rather than just go for the straightforward option, although it does of course look good when it works. He had an awful bobble at the end when he was through - bit of a bugger as I had backed the Toon to win 3-0

An embarrassing display and result for Newcastle. The difference between the league positions should have resulted in a 5 or 6 nil rout at least. Instead there were botched shots from Newcastle, excellent defending from Yeading and some close shots by the Yeading forwards occasionally when they could get near the Geordie goal! They didn' seem to tire towards the end either. Yeading put up a display worthy of a team much higher than Town and Newcastle seemed bottom of the premiership class at best. For Yeading it was their FA Cup final, and unlike us following our giant-killing of Everton, it looks like they'll get promoted too - good luck to them!

Wish that Yeading had been able to beat Newcastle - just to annoy Freddie Sheppard mainly

Wish Stoke had managed to draw or beat Arsenal - just for the 3 or 4 figure profits really

And as a side note, I have never ever seen a worse striker than Craig Bellamy in my life. A little bit of an over-reaction? He does have 11 goals to his name this season!

Tis a bit harsh, one would feel! Craig, you're obviously too young to remember Dean Spink in his prime ...
