We have offered him a new contract Not triggered the crazy deal we could have done He can walk away if he wants Defenders are 10 a penny , we dragged an unfit out of shape Pierre out of the gutter and a couple of months later he was dunkley in disguise For a fraction of the cost If dunkly thinks he can do better I suggest he updates his cv and gets going quick I don’t get the Udoh love in either Not sure about a "love in" but whilst I am sure there are better players out there its whether we as a club would be able to attract them. And so I think it makes sense to keep him. He's not had the best season of course but then none of them have but to have scored that many in this team is an achievement in itself. I think some of the goals he has scored this season shows that he is more than capable at this level. We just need to get a team together that gives him more opportunities to do what we know he can do...👍

Given our record of strikers that don't strike at Shrewsbury, Udoh is gold dust.

There's plenty better than bowman and bayliss.... I think on his day Bayliss is a decent player its just those days are few and far between. He's defo got something about him though. I agree about Bowman however, you don't like to single out individual players in this way but Bowman is very much an example of why we have struggled.

I don't disagree.... But bayliss wants everything handed to him on a plate, and not prepared to work for it.....and that's been going on for at least 2 years, from what I've been watching

Delighted with how ruthless he’s been although I’d have gone even further.

Delighted with how ruthless he’s been although I’d have gone even further. That's the thing isn't it. We tend to be a sentimental lot us football fans and a sucker for those who put in a shift but I guess we shouldn't get too soppy when it comes to a squad of players who have have given us arguably one of the worst seasons we've had since getting back to this level.

The true professional that he is. Which by proves my point. Towns man of the match was someone who only played half of it, and only came on then because others were so abject. I agree about the true professional but though.

Exactly, through overspend and under performance the club has come close to disaster this last couple of seasons. Both PH and MM have a record of working on a reasonable budget, we are in good hands again.

Looking at what’s available, I hope to see something like this for the first game of next season
New GK
New RB New CB New CB Nurse
Winchester New CM New CM
New RW Udoh Shipley
Time to reboot.

Yes Bayliss is a decent player and you can see what he is capable of but the issue for me is his work rate(poor) he expects things to be handed to him on a plate, he sulks, for most of the game he is a passenger and at this level we can't afford that, the Wycombe game is burnt in my brain when it was a game we could have won and he just walked and jogged for most of the game. After that it was just get rid.

One has to respect that this is a player's livelihood, in the same way that the players respect the club that pays them . I would think he would be one of the players on higher wages, so let us hope we sign a better forward next time

I'm glad Pryce has been given the chance to train with us again, I'm surprised we kept Mata The retained list says: Salop will begin next year with the following players under contract: Morgan Feeney, Jason Sraha, George Nurse, Carl Winchester, Taylor Perry, Jordan Shipley, Roland Idowu, Tom Bloxham and Max Mata.
It doesn't say we wouldn't listen to sensible offers for any of them if it suits the club and players interests.

I'm glad Pryce has been given the chance to train with us again, I'm surprised we kept Mata Mata - long term loan to Ireland for the next 2 years perhaps? It's bad enough MM feeling that he has to sign up cheap options like Mata and Idowu, but to award both of them contracts until 2026 is way off the scale!

Mata is such a funny one as he joined without a pre season, coming straight from LoI. And then left town mid season to go back to the start of the LoI. It was never disclosed the length of the loan, so he could be there the whole season - until Oct/Nov time which could prevent him from playing again with town until Jan. Or depending on the deal is now a good time for Hurst and the team to go and see him in action in Ireland and see if they want him back into the fold for pre/next season. Having said that he's not scored in 5 games so he's not likely to hugely impress him!

Few clubs seem to go down the route of publicly announcing players are transfer listed or available for transfer. To be honest you wouldnt get a fee for any of the players they'd want to lose, so assume loans more likely

He is still very young, no reason he could not develop into a decent league 1 striker. I think this season he struggled with confidence after going so long without scoring. He finally gets a goal and goes off on international duty. By the time he came back Bowman scored a hatrick in the cup so was kept out of the side for longer which probably knocked his confidence again.

Nurse and Benning will probably be LB sorted but we need at least one right back, two if Feeney is seen as a starting centre half. I’d be very disappointed and concerned if we don’t strengthen the attacking areas and the likes of Bloxham are automatic every game picks. If we want to play better football we need better technical and pacey footballers across the whole pitch, especially at home where we’ve looked completely lacklustre.

Deffo need new forwards....goals scored this season tells you that....need at least 3/4 in... midfield at least 3...... probably look at players released from the premiership academies, and same with the forwards.... somewhere along the lines of James Collins....was he from villa academy/reserves???

I expect Perry, Idowu & Mata all be sold or loaned out before next season. Like someone else said Perry wasn’t even in the squad yesterday.

Just to complete the picture I believe that we are desperate for a creative midfielder,or two. Our problem this season is that we haven't created for our forwards and have been constantly pushed back which put pressure on our defence.

Kenneh's not been in the squad for months!
What we don't know yet is how George Nurse will be after such a serious (double) injury. I really hope that he will be the Nurse of old but we've already seen with Dan Udoh that that isn't always the case.
Fingers crossed for him though.

Just to complete the picture I believe that we are desperate for a creative midfielder,or two. Our problem this season is that we haven't created for our forwards and have been constantly pushed back which put pressure on our defence. That’s a point well made and definitely a priority. One of our shortcomings this season has been our inability - on the rare occasions we could get forward, to hold possession long enough to bring others into the game and to create openings for our forward players. I’m sure Hurst sees this very clearly and I’m hoping he is actively looking at a couple of season long loan deals
