It would be a big step up agreed but I suspect playing for his country meant a lot to him.

Yeah, they are two of the lowest ranked 'nations' in world football. It's decent Sunday league level. In the game Beckles played in, the player playing at highest level was at Eastleigh in the National League I did laugh at Davy’s original post, playing international football doesn’t mean a fat lot when the standard is so low for some countries. Oh well we'll release him instead as per usual...I was trying to be positive

PH can let rip at the end of today's game. He doesn't have to try to motivate this bunch any more.
He's free tell a few home truths before issuing a very small retained list.

That’s a shame. It would be good to have him around the place in a role. A good professional.

Benning Price (move heaven and earth to keep) Udoh (likewise) Sraha (at a push another year)
If there's anybody sniffing after bayliss and we get some sort of nominal fee and some Christmas chocolates then trigger his extension.
Jettison the rest.

Wouldn’t be upset if we didn’t have a retained list at all.

Full clearout needed. Even the "better" players not up to it.
Big building job needed from PH in the summer. Think he is going to be busy.

Looks like Bennett isn't staying. I’d guess he’s retiring. Real shame as the quality he brings is obvious.

Whoever stays or goes, please do not let Mickey Moore anywhere near the recruitment process.
Of the two clubs he has been involved with, one was relegated and the other narrowly avoided it. The squad he has assembled has been woefully inadequate.
Based on today’s performance, Bennett and Price should be offered something for next season. Although it looked at the end as though Bennett may have been saying his goodbyes again (possibly to football as a whole?)
Marosi is a good shotstopper but is replaceable I’ve said it for ages now - Udoh’s first touch is woeful. He is also replaceable Bayliss - talented, lazy and often anonymous in games. Bye Benning has shown enough for a contract offer Flanagan probably best to move on. Not enough time on the pitch O’Brien - see Bayliss Bowman - a cheap back up option, but ultimately not good enough. Time to move on
Trigger the option on the other 3.
Hopefully, Hurst will revert to the system that worked so well for us previously. He seemed to manage to get two good players for each position and the team was always very fit and well drilled. This system that we have now had for the last few managers is shockingly bad, boring and hasn’t worked

It us years to replace Collins (our last decent forward) We would struggle to bring in anyone better than him on the wages we could afford to offer. He has scored 11 goals in a terrible negative team. Imagine if he had good service and other players with a football brain around him. At 27 it will be his last chance at a big pay day so I imagine he will be off anyway. I have also seen absolutely nothing to back up your claim that O'Brien is talented. Be lucky to get a league 2 team next season.

Already a touch of tension between Moore and Hurst listening to the interviews over the last two weeks. Hurst has been clear that he’s bringing in his players, can’t see how that works with Moore identifying and providing options. Sounds to me like Hurst isn’t going to be told who to sign and Moore is relegated to the guy getting the contracts and paperwork signed.

Well let’s be honest none of us have seen anything about O’Brien - he hasn’t stayed around long enough and for that reason alone he should be top of the bye bye list. A bigger waste of a signing and money I haven’t seen since I started supporting in 1992.
Just the mention of him makes me so angry.

When mistakes are made they can be costly as we have seen in the past with Walsall and Jake Robinson playing against us when on loan. Never underestimate the value of an excellent administrator. We cannot afford a slap happy approach with our financial state.

Regardless of what happens to the current batch of players, we need goal scorers. The last 3 seasons we’ve been scrambling around for goals throughout the team. If we lose Udoh which I’m convinced we will, we would have lost our last goal scorer.

It's going to be busy for both of them and MM also has to make the academy pay, as he did with Travis.
Back in the day the "office work" of signing players was something the club secretary could do, now all the players have agents - we need MM on our side of the negotiations. MM enables Hurst to get the sort of players he wants within our budget. No more too many players, no more too few, too well paid, players.

If the players knew before the match, no wonder they were rubbish.
And how anyone can thank O’Brien for his ‘dedication’ is totally beyond me. Surely the club could be honest and say what a total waste of space he was.
