In light of what was, by all reports, a pretty anaemic, lethargic and passion-free display on Saturday, I dread to think what the board thinks, except, perhaps, that it can't be any worse...

It probably won't be as bad as expected, remind me of this statement at 10pm tomorrow evening though.

We have all watched football enough to say that we will probably put in a good performance tomorrow night.

Looking at the positives - Hopefully there will be a reaction from the players after Saturday Our away form is better than our home form under Hurst We got a draw at another promotion chasing side Derby Bolton may well underestimate us and rotate their squad heavily Come on Hursty and the lads - even a point tomorrow or Saturday will tilt things heavily in favour of survival (and will cheer us all up before the last home game).

Without being too pessimistic I think tomorrow could be embarrassing. I’ve got no reason to suggest it’ll be any different tomorrow than it was on Saturday. Hurst sounds like he’s devoid of ideas with this squad and (rightly) saying it’s down to the players after they cross the white line. Based on that, if they play with such apathy again we’ll get a proper hiding. Here’s hoping they find some motivation from somewhere.

3-4-2-1
Marosi Feeney - Dunkley - Sraha Bennet - Winchester - Perry - Shipley Bayliss - O'Brien Udoh
Need more creativity up front, assuming they turn up 😉 Don't think 2CB suits any available partnership.

Definitely one of our better players these last few months, so wouldn't want to say dropped. Just trying to line up in a formation that seems to have brought other teams some success & think Shippers is better option. But not meant in any disrespect to MB.

Bayliss. Was thinking Bloxham & O'Brien but think Bayliss would offer more in midfield. & Yes, totally get the point after Saturday. I'm of the opinion that most need to be released for a fresh challenge next season.

Will be interesting to see what Hurst does re selection.
I didn't expect anything from this game before Saturday but I now think there is an outside hope of getting a result.
Of course it could go the other way and the 6-0 suggested above is entirely possible.

Really don't want to see Bayliss, Bloxham or Perry play and I'd be delighted to see O'Brien in the XI.
What has this season become.

I was also thinking along the lines that we might go three central defenders for this one. I would go: Marosi Feeney Dunkley Sraha Sobowale Winchester Kenneh Benning Udoh O'Brien Shipley We need some fresh legs- If Kenneh just sits in front of the back three and breaks up play (he is good at that) then Sobowale and Benning can get forward. Udoh can play off O'Brien and come from deeper positions (which is his strength) and I like Shipley in the more forward role as he is one of our main goal threats

I’d go with 5 across the back for this one. The problem with Kennah is that he can’t pass and we’ll get punished by Bolton with any stray passes near our box. I’d bring O’Brien back in. Bayliss needs a rest and I’d like to see Perry dropped but I don’t think he will be. Is Tulloch available yet? Our realistic options are admittedly very limited. Must must must avoid conceding early. If we do it could be embarrassing. But if we stick in there then you never know. Come on Town!

Maybe this is the one to put AO'B on to relive the best bits of his football career, he's got to be up for this?
I'm thinking Chelsea - Everton for this one, so anythings a bonus, a point a glittering prize, 3 points a lottery win.

Trust me Harborough we won’t be rotating our squad and any changes will be for purely injury reasons of which there will be a couple after Saturday but other than up front our squad is so strong this season, that I don’t think it will make any difference to the performance. This is a MUST WIN game for us in the very truest sense of that saying and then hope Derby slip up at Cambridge on Saturday to keep automatic promotion hopes alive. It should have been still in our hands but despite our terrific performance against Pompey on Saturday we just couldn’t find the winner which we fully deserved so I’m afraid we will really be going for it tonight. I dont think you need worry about going down whatever happens but after tonight good luck for your remaining games. 👍

I agree that defending is the weakest part of Sobowales game but if we stick with four at the back that means that Ogbeta will be directly up against Feeney (who is a decent player but more a centre-half than a full-back). Playing three at the back can help with getting us further up the pitch but only if the wingbacks can actually run and are comfortable higher up the pitch and Benning and Sobowale can do that for us. It is probably an academic debate anyway as Hurst does tend to start with four at the back.

It would be interesting to know what happens with Tom Flanagan over the next two weeks bearing in mind he wont play for us again. Is he in for training. Does he travel to last two games and have to attend final home match or has he been told he may as well empty his locker and stay away. Dont think he is someone who Hurst would want to stick around as he is such a good influence around the training ground and dressing room.

If you had seen the way we played on Saturday you might come to the conclusion your second team could comfortably beat us.

Yikes. neither of them can defend, probably why ogbeta has only managed 28 starts in the almost 2 1/2 seasons since leaving us, none for the club who a chance with him, I'd prefer ogbeta if given a choice but would only ever use him as an out and out winger

Can’t believe I’m advocating the return of the 5–3-2, but needs must.
Marosi Winchester, Feeney, Dunkley, Sraha, Benning Hinchy, Price Shipley Udoh, Bowman
Price probably isn’t fit to start though to be fair.
Two up top so we have some sort of threat on the counter at least.
