Yes, sad to see, but I must admit I had Carmen down as just another purveyor of American MOR stuff that never appealed to me at all. I must check out the Raspberries as they've completely passed me by.
The death of Karl Wallinger was announced today as well. He was a member of the Waterboys in their "Whole Of The Moon" heyday. I knew him better after he left them and fronted World Party, who recorded some great songs - "Is It Like Today?", "Put The Message In The Box" and, best of all, "Ship Of Fools".
He also wrote and released "She's The One" before Robbie Williams had an enormous hit with it. That should have given Karl and his family a good deal of financial security.
If you don't know it, or even if you do, have a listen to "Ship Of Fools" and salute the passing of a wonderful talent.

Mr Vencemerous you have great taste Ship of fools is a great track. I went to a Sad Cafe gig recently. Original base player with some brilliant musicians. I never thought Paul Young could be replaced but the new vocalist was outstanding. Worth a look sir

Finished on Everyday Hurts with My Oh My as the encore. Strange Little Girl my favourite. Still got the Facades album in my vinyl collection.
