surprised to see Lincoln are top, puts to shame the mini meltdown we had despite having a late injury crisis for the game, one thing for certain, to have a worse final 10 games we have t now lose 9 in a row also a little surprising to see Orient 5th and Fleetwood 10th Position | Team | Played | Points | 1 | Lincoln City | 9 | 21 | 2 | Portsmouth | 9 | 21 | 3 | Derby County | 9 | 19 | 4 | Bolton Wanderers | 11 | 17 | 5 | Leyton Orient | 10 | 16 | 6 | Reading | 10 | 15 | 7 | Stevenage | 10 | 15 | 8 | Barnsley | 9 | 15 | 9 | Bristol Rovers | 9 | 15 | 10 | Fleetwood Town | 10 | 14 | 11 | Wycombe Wanderers | 9 | 14 | 12 | Charlton Athletic | 10 | 14 | 13 | Peterborough United | 9 | 13 | 14 | Wigan Athletic | 9 | 13 | 15 | Blackpool | 9 | 12 | 16 | Oxford United | 10 | 11 | 17 | Exeter City | 9 | 11 | 18 | Shrewsbury Town | 9 | 11 | 19 | Cheltenham Town | 10 | 11 | 20 | Northampton Town | 10 | 10 | 21 | Cambridge United | 10 | 8 | 22 | Burton Albion | 8 | 8 | 23 | Carlisle United | 8 | 3 | 24 | Port Vale | 10 | 2 |

Amazing that only one of our 11 points has come at home - hopefully we improve on that in the next two games. A point a game from the remaining nine games should be enough to keep us up so even a continuation of the form under Hurst would be more than good enough. It would also be nice to see if we can rid ourselves of the dubious distinction of having the lowest goals for total in League 1.

A fine ship-steadying effort by Hurst thus far, albeit the home form has stopped it from being a spectacular return.
I always maintained there was some absolute dross in this league and we’d have to be appallingly bad to go down, we’ve flirted with it but we should be fine by this time next week.

Whichever way you look at it Exeter are our equals at the moment. A very interesting match Tuesday, shame we don't seem to turn up for these Tuesday fixtures.

Lincoln have been going well, Fleetwood have picked up a little.
Shows we have 2 very winnable games coming up next. Wonder whether we will pick up 2 points or even just 1???

The Exeter and Carlisle games will be very tough games, let's make no mistake about that....I would be more than happy with 4 PTS from these two games......6 PTS and it would be done and dusted for us

Lincoln have been going great guns, fair play to them to go to Barnsley and win 5-1,takes some doing...... maybe it's the players from Ireland they signed!!!👍😉😉😳

11 points from 9 games from a side seemingly staring relegation in the face is fantastic when you think about it ?

I honestly think we’d have been down there with Vale and Carlisle on 2/3 points had we not made the change.
Going down are we ****, Paul Hurst will keep us up!

I make it 7 points from the previous 9 games to him coming in so it's an improvement, albeit not a dramatic one.
He's got a great opportunity to improve on thr home form over the next 7 days

And I think that’s mainly due to the lack of fitness. Rarely have we won back to back games that involve a mid-week match straight after a Saturday win.

Yep....the supporters have noticed the lack of fitness all season, and Hurst is on about it now,and he's having to just scrape by until the end of season, which doesn't help at all

I think I am correct in saying that we have not won any back to back games in the league all season so Tuesday night might be a good place to start!

Regarding any fitness issues, Bowman should be fresh and is ex Exeter.... Bennett did less than 10 minutes at Port Vale. Sobowale only did 15. O'Brien, Tulloch and Flanagan were unused subs.
So, maybe some scope to bring in fresh players Tuesday if there are fitness issues?

The table shows just how tight it's been amongst all the teams aside from Vale and Carlisle.
No one has really got away at the top and there's a mass battle for play offs.
We could and probably should have put the Barnsley game to bed and that would put us in upper mid table form under Hurst since coming in.

14 points from 11 games now since Hurst came in, that points per game average would give you 59 points over a whole season, which is the exact same total we finished 12th with last season.
Thank God we didn’t wait any longer to make the change.

Thank God we didn’t wait any longer to make the change. Taylor wouldn't have picked up anywhere near as many points, absolutely no chance. Just a shame Hurst didn't come in earlier, we'd have done the sheep dippers and put a few extra pounds in the coffers.

I’m actually excited about the thought of watching the team that he will be putting together in the summer. Haven’t felt excited about the prospect of watching a Town team for a while.

Why would the coaches' contract length not be in the public domain? Can only imagine it's not your usual kind of contract.

Something along the lines of.......if he keeps Shrewsbury in league 1.....the club will give him a 2/3 yr contract

Has he not alluded to looking towards next season once we are safe in one or other of his interviews? Think he has though I might be mistaken.

Something along the lines of.......if he keeps Shrewsbury in league 1.....the club will give him a 2/3 yr contract Long as we dont do a 'Port Vale' and give the manager a 5 years contract. It's looking like a huge pay off at some point in the future, as I said it might well be when it was anounced.

There are so many ifs and buts. He could just b….ger off like last time He could get another offer and leave in a more appreciative manner towards the fans He could be sacked for whatever reason His contract may be to keep us up and mathematically at the moment we could fail.
Who knows only time will tell.
He says he’s thinking about next season but I think he said that last time as well!!

No.... he'll stop and sort Shrewsbury out first(he wants to) then if a championship club comes in....you can't blame him for going, but it will be a bit more dignified next time👍👍
