The Rovers are currently flying at the top of Div.3, having won 12 of their last 14 games in the league.
Now it may sound like sour grapes, but what's the point of getting promoted if it's going to be just as unchallenging in a higher division? They didn't even have that kind of run during their promotion campaign.
It's like if you were promoted to a higher level in your job, or, for the younger amongst you lot, if you moved from school to university, you would expect that to provide you with more of a challenge than your previous position. It if doesn't, then it defeats the whole objective.
As a Barnet fan, of course it gives us hope should either of us go up, but realistically I would not want to be rushing headlong into a division that my club is not prepared for (financially as well as in terms of playing ability). We know only too well what happened in 1993 when we started our Div.2 having lost a whole promotion-winning squad and Cheltenham didn't have the finances to keep their team when they went up and look where they are now.
