Maybe it was the comment; But Saturday is what matters. All this means very little unless we sharpen up in the league. And the club is a business not just a football team, without one you haven't got the other. Massive overreaction. The business side is obviously important but I’m talking about the results in the league on the pitch. I agree both go hand in hand but the league is the most important thing we get right at the moment because it’s just not happening. This will all be forgotten very quickly if we get beat 2-0 again on a Saturday with just one shot on target. Still not sure about your point. I never once said it wasn’t a good thing financially for the club? I think you're underplaying it, this financial boost will likely offset our loses for the entire season.

Great result and even better financial windfall for the club. This team has some quality players and if we had a quality manager we'd be in the play offs.

It looks like the possibility of a truce is as great as Pilch buying a half and half scarf a week Sunday.

Amnesty is a great idea as long as that means no ridiculous criticism, but banning fair criticism is closer to censorship. The amazing win only highlights how poorly the team having been playing for most of this season.
I will always support Town and whoever is manager (with the exception of John Bond) but no-one is above criticism

Lose at Fleetwood and would SR be that much further ahead of where he was?
Win at Fleetwood and serious critique will be gone for some time...
Interesting how much different he has had teams performing poorly and average in the league suddenness turn it on in big cup games, pretty much all of them hes managed. There is something in that, just not sure what it is.

This could be my favourite thread of all time? Why? Because it is called Critics Amnesty and we so far we have criticised:
The club! The Manager! The team! Wrexham! Fellow board members!
Priceless

Fantastic win lastnite.still have major doubts about tickets though.lastnite most managers would be capable of motivating a team to play out of its skin, when Liverpool are the next opponents.but this team is held back by the managers negative tactics in my opinion.we have a very good core of players who could play in a higher league, and with this team a good manager would,I believe get us into play offs.I was thrilled and excited when we won at blackpool, but soon came down to earth again, after next few one shot at goal games.most managers who were defenders in there playing careers, set up teams with the do not concede mentality, but you need to attack to win, otherwise you end up drawing games, the team should be winning.

I wonder if this money for the next round and tv will have any effect on who we might go in for in the transfer window? And will it have any effect on who thinks staying at Shrewsbury is a very good option? And who thinks a loan to Shrewsbury sounds good (who have Liverpool got they could loan us?).

If, as was mentioned elsewhere, Roland Wycherley has said this will mean the club maybe breaks even this season that is a sensible thing for the club to say. Any players we're targeting this window might now demand a higher fee and/or higher wages off the back of our windfall.

Ricketts has put almost £500k into the coffers from the FA Cup Exploits
2018/19 R2 win £27,000.00 Prize Money 2018/19 R3 Win £67,000.00 Prize Money 2019/20 R1 Win £36,000.00 Prize Money 2019/20 R2 Win £54,000.00 Prize Money 2019/20 R3 Win £135,000.00 Prize Money 2019/20 TV game £144,000.00 TV Money
For us, thats pretty massive.
And some of the big games (Wolves, Liverpool) will have made a couple of 100k on top of that.
We should not be posting a lost this year really. Well not a massive one!

Not quite, its a 45% take of gate receipts and there is vat on top. We have only had one big attendance (at Wolves) rest were all poorly attended (stoke, home games even sell outs are just 9k).... Will be mabey 200k or something. Brian got a message to me that my initial estimates on how much we make from FA tickets for home games was well optimistic!

I would give my right eye at to play Shrowsbury at the Cae Ras in the FA Cup. But it doesn't look on the cards at the moment. When, not if, that happens. You can expect the traditional warm welcome the the town of Wrexham is famous for. Ever lasting bonds and memories. We look forward to seeing you all very soon! Go away. Nobody's interested, and literally nobody cares about Wrexham.

There would have to be a "Ratcliffe run" losing every game for the rest of the season before our hard headed businessmen considered parting with SR with a record like that: money coming in, reasonable league position = success. So everyone stop moaning and look on the positive side!

This team has some quality players and if we had a quality manager we'd be in the play offs. your expectations really are way off fergie arrived at united in 86, he just managed by the skin of his teeth to win the fa cup in 1990 Klopp arrived at Liverpool in 2015 don Revie arrived at Leeds in 1961, they won the league in 1969 Ricketts has been here just over a year, and inherited a shambles of a side, all the critics said we were going down and we didnt we now have one of the best defences in the league and actually own those players, they are not even on loan to us we are 6 points from a play off spot with a game in hand, are on a massive cup run again and have a plum tie and you still moan ? really bizarre be realistic man anything can happen in the cup we might beat liverpool reserves, but well get thumped next round anyway we'll comfortably stay up this season, and the last handful of games will be dull friendlies next season I'll hope for mid table at worst get real

It’s fair to criticise that & the two games against Bristol City the team did show a completely different side to them. It was great, and of course makes many wonder why we opt for that in the cup & a bus in the league.

It is disappointing that we can put on a show of good defending with quick counter like we had last night. but then you get the slow pondering build up, that we had on Saturday. I am very content with where we are as a club, with expectations being met, which is comfortable survival within this league this season. We have great defence, and if we had the same freedom in league games as appeared last night, i reckon we could be higher up. The joys of being a town fan.......
Funny how we can easily abuse our own. we had an above average crowd last night, and this lady stood next to Pete, and was moaning about plastic fans (Aimed at me and Pete), and glory hunters.... Me i don't care, if someone wants to come and watch for the first time, and it converts them into a lifelong fan, it was a great choice. If they never come again, thanks for your money. Oh she then asked someone who our number 9 was.... made me giggle slightly.....

Are we also going to have an amnesty of the ridiculous comments people often have to endure when making reasonable criticism after a poor result? Do you think comments like "if we had a quality manager we'd be in the play offs" and "the team should be winning" are reasonable criticism? Seems to me they allow no room for sensible debate, so those making them shouldn't get upset if they attract "ridiculous comments" in return.

Did the lad realise he might be on camera? Hope he was smiling, wonder what the punishment is for throwing a flare into a crowd? Got to be more than for throwing one onto a pitch....
