Cracking cup tie that could go either way. Chances for both sides and then the rocket from Pierre. Personally, pleasing...'Nod' to my Dad..Walter Michael Jones, known as Mike who passed away in early hours of last Tuesday (7th).
A Shrewsbury fan since 1950 and also followed Liverpool.
Watched for last ten years from block 16.
Before he passed away he knew Shrews or Bristol City would play Liverpool. His last game was v Portsmouth in safe standing watching Giles rocket. Keep smiling Dad.

Good game of football, the cup ain’t dead yet. Tight, tense, scrappy, end to end. I enjoyed it before the goal went in and my word, one for the ‘remember when’ memories.
Up the Town. Well done Sam Ricketts, now trust that formation, that lineup in the league. In all likelihood it’ll yield similar results but it might be a lot more fun if the two cup games are anything to go by.
Aaron Pierre my Lord.

Very impressed with the strong running of Lang and the all round game of Udoh. Makes you wonder if we really are desperate to sign a new striker. Really think we can give a weaker Liverpool team a good game and hopefully a draw with a money spinning great evening out at Anfield.

A really enjoyable game to watch tonight, a real 50/50 game that could have gone either way. Credit to both teams for their part in a memorable game which had a bit of everything. A proper old fashioned FA Cup game, settled by a goal that will live long in the memory.

Really think we can give a weaker Liverpool team a good game and hopefully a draw with a money spinning great evening out at Anfield. I thought (maybe wrongly) that the Prem had insisted on no replays from the 4th round on due to fixture congestion - they are having a two week winter break in February. I could be barking up completely the wrong tree there.

I'm still a sex machine. Just look at the text I've received : "Hi, jaytee, I know I haven't said it before, because I'm shy, but I've always fancied you something rotten. I hope you don't mind me telling you, but I've fallen head over heels in love with you. P.S., any chance of a Liverpool ticket? If you say "Yes", I will love you for ever and ever", Always in my heart, Jurgen Klopp. xx

It really is one to remember that goal, absolutely pinged it. Superb strike.
I appreciate that that goal was one from a fair distance out but I think we have seen enough of Pierre (and also Ebanks-Landell) around the opposition box to know that they can play. When we heard Ricketts talking about 'gambling' up at Doncaster the other night, I don't think we did anything of the sort. When we are looking for a goal I think we could do worse than sending up one of the centre backs. Pierre in particular can play...👍 Don't think we tend to do that though but I'd say it were an option.

I played with Mike in our Wenlock Juniors days, he always loved the game but I didn’t know he was a Town fan until BotS was published! Do you have the photo of us playing at Gay Meadow?

That one will live long in the memory (unlike 90% of our league games)
A very good, disciplined, tactical performance against decent higher level opposition. Bristol City started off looking confident, moving the ball around well, playing very wide and probing down both flanks. Then continued that way for much of the first half to almost no effect thanks mostly to our lads sticking to the plan. (Giles apart - marking and closing down are two things he cannot do well) Once we stopped giving away needless free kicks in our half (Goldbourne) in the second half, they began to run out of ideas. The game looked very like it was heading towards 0-0 and penalties when, for once, Mr Ricketts went all attack-minded and bought on two attacking subs (Lang for Udoh - both played well) and Shaun Whalley......and we all know what effect he has.....it took him precisely 30 seconds to rattle the previously calm Bristol defence with an unexpected looping cross that Lang nearly headed in, requiring a decent save and scrambled clearance for a corner........crowd noise grew......Salop began to breathe on 'em and you could see their confidence dribble away. Lang nearly gets through (but missed the clear pass to a free Laurent), Whalley skins their full back, hang on a bit.........we could win this ........do we have any more attacking options? Yes, we do, the intelligent and mobile if not exactly lethal Cummings......who was mobile and intelligent for two minutes, which was all that was needed for him to find the right pass.....
Pierre had been excellent all game and was clearly looking to play a one-two and get another shot in before the end. BANG !
Now that gentleman...... is how you hit a football.
Jurgen Klopp's glasses might just steam over when he sees the replays.......he may now have to resort to playing a couple of his stars instead of resting them, which is obviously what all Town fans and probably the players want anyway.

I can't recall who it was against but I think a couple of weeks ago maybe it was Pierre who found himself in the box with a defender up his arse and he was able to shift the ball and gain an opening for a shot on goal. It was pretty decent, nifty feet (for a big man). Ballooned it over the bar, like. But you can't have everything...

Dont mind extra fixtures when it suits them. The tail continues to wag the dog.
