so what do we reckon ?
classic town cup shock or a 6-0 spanking ?
could be X-rated and not for all ;-)

Poor weather forecast could prove to be to towns advantage and a great leveller. Could prove to be a long night with extra time and penalties.

I suspect we may have missed our best chance to go through after not winning despite playing so well at Ashton Gate. I see City arrested their recent slump by winning at Wigan and we will not have the element of surprise this time. Their Senegalese international Diedhiou is a real handful upfront and has a very good scoring ratio and Eliasson tops the assists table in the Championship. Having said that Rickett's teams seem to reserve their best performances for higher league opposition in the Cup and, if our defense puts in a good shift, we might be able to take them to extra time and penalties. Would it be asking too much for us to play some of our best players (e.g. Whalley and Laurent) in their best position? Or even (whisper it) start with Lang and Cummings upfront? The prize of a home tie with any Liverpool side is a mouth-watering proposition and we should at least go down fighting rather than defending for ninety minutes and hoping to sneak a goal.

If the weathers anything like today’s downpour at 5.00 p.m they’ll struggle to get the game on although improving still 40 mph winds at 7.... www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2637891As for the game it’s thesort the players will be up for not so much pressure so perhaps Ricketts can instil some confidence in them, as for the team, anyone’s guess

That amount of sales from our fans is a bit disappointing given the potential prize at stake. Did the club think about boosting sales for the game by issuing vouchers with an enhanced number of loyalty points?

I'm afraid that given our current form this scoreline will not be good, I reckon a loss by two clear goals, although given our home record in the FA cup my heart says we can do it, COYB.

I think the real question needs to be
is anyone going to cry tomorrow and throw teddies about if we don't beat higher league opposition ?

I've still got the voucher guaranteeing me a ticket the last time we had Liverpool in the cup, it didn't get me a ticket then either!

I think the real question needs to be is anyone going to cry tomorrow and throw teddies about if we don't beat higher league opposition ? I’ll absolutely moan if we lose and I feel like we didn’t even give it a proper go. Otherwise no, of course not, and anyone that does will look pretty silly. They’re a decent championship side even if the first time around they didn’t look it..

I doubt Bristol will be as bad again, or we'll be as good, so I also think we blew our chance first time around.
But, who knows.

I’ve got a funny feeling we’ll turn them over tomorrow. I think the weather will be bit of a leveller and being the underdog takes a bit of pressure of us so maybe we’ll play a little less cautiously....here’s hoping 😉
1-nil to The Town

Oh goody. In a few weeks I could have watched it live........Still, why watch it when I'd probably finish up feeling Grumpy. Besides that, the dragon might have caught me.

Missing our opportunity in the first game is what people said after drawing at home to stoke
That didn’t turn out so bad

Some more wet and windy weather forecast today... no doubts the game will be on as I don’t think there’s ever been a first team game called off for a waterlogged pitch at Oteley Road although if it was I do wonder when would the game be replayed due to the small timeframes... I guess it would be tomorrow evening as if it was played next week that wouldn’t give much time to get everything sorted regarding tickets etc?

The only thing that would postpone tonight’s match would be the safety aspect for fans, but the high winds forecast are due to abate somewhat this evening. If memory serves, the only matches we’ve lost since moving to Oteley Road have been due to heavy snowfall covering the pitch and icy conditions in and around the ground? Didn’t WMP (in conjunction with the club) postpone a game a few seasons ago as a result? Ice on the steps within the stadium?

There was one game played in the wind and the south stand hordings and roof were flexing concerningly! Im sure it was part of the design but remember watching it thinking glad im not in that stand! More worried about the rain and the never ending drip that over my seat!

Yes, and if we get heavy rain, the wind direction almost inevitably blows it straight into the East Stand.
I remember an evening game against Darlington where I emerged from the game like a drowned rat with my programme a soggy mush.

I can definitely see the weather having a detrimental impact to our playing style tonight. Instead of knocking it aimlessly around the back before humping it up to Bristol City's centre backs, we will have to aimlessly knock it around the back before humping into the stands! How will SR adjust his tactics!
