Does seem a bit odd that Morison's been given a virtual eulogy on the club's website when other, more loyal and long-serving, players have left without so much as a 'don't let the door hit your arse on the way out'. Coyne Sadler They got nothing compared to this send off Feels like they are covering there arses for somthing... Just out of interest though, who wrote that article on the Town website? Do we know? Are we sure it was it someone from the club? Perhaps it was written by someone outside the club and the club have just looked to use that on the website when announcing he is leaving us. As it looks a better read than usual. Which might mean someone else wrote it. Which might explain why he gets such an article (and others not). If you get my meaning...👍

Perfect outcome - off the wages and no pay-off by sounds. Looks like his legs had gone, terminal when that happens. Seems a decent fella, knew it had happened so an opportunity to coach, rather than sit here and pick up a wage for doing nothing for the rest of the season. Can't fault him for that. What does “legs had gone” mean? When I got into my late 30s my stamina was as good as ever, what had deteriorated were my reflexes and speed of reaction. I’ve always been curious about what is meant by the phrase.

As a 40-year-old who played Sunday league and enjoys running I can tell you that if / when it happens to you, you know. Physioligically I've no idea what processes lie behind it (declining number of fast-twitch fibres maybe plays a part?) but you lose nit just speed but acceleration, and recovery times lengthen. Just a sluggishness creeps in. Not a massive change but, knowing your own body, that 'heavyness' that comes in meanz you just can't perform how you used to be able to. Myself, as a player who had bundles of energy and zip in my prime, it was curtains. Anx sith running, you just lose that gear to go up to. Like a car losing top gear

But apart from LJL, who isn't yet fit and isn't of the standard required anyway, we now have no big striker able to win headers and hold up the ball to bring others into play. So the long ball lumped forward will be somewhat ineffective. With LJL likely to be gone in January, Morison retired, and doubts about the fitness of Lang, SR will surely be wanting to add another striker to the squad in January.

Great news for John-Lewis but I hope Ricketts doesn't look at him as any kind of option beyond January.

Great news for John-Lewis but I hope Ricketts doesn't look at him as any kind of option beyond January. The option is to help him get to a suitable club if possible, and spend the wages freed up as his contract expires wisely.

I’m really pleased for the player. He will have all my best wishes whatever the future may hold for him.

Gets about a bit, you don't have to worry about how many clubs you work for in a season when you change roles of course.

Hope it works out for him
Really liked the look of him here too Shame his legs gave up and fair play to him for admitting it and moving on
