Top half of the draw is really tough - England v Aus and NZ v Ireland.

Well it certainly lived up to its billing. What a game and what a story. Outstanding from Japan. And I reckon they'll more than fancy their chances against SA too...

Major respect. Contrast this outpouring of enthusiasm with the terribly hosted athletic event in Doha. With the backdrop of the last few days in Japan what a show!

Shame the England quarter final isn't the 11:15am ko, 8:15 is to early for the pub, for me anyway. I'm sure some will disagree😜😜🤪

I've only watched highlights of most games but the two games I've seen from start to finish (Wales/Aus and Japan/Scotland) have been absolutely fantastic matches and had me glued to the screen. If only all Rugby Union games were like those two !!! COME ON WALES.

Teams being released for the weekend. England and Ireland at full strength. Australia have named a 19 year old winger at centre, not sure that's a wise move and All Black's have named a team that is the weakest I've seen from them, in a world cup quarter final in my memory. Ireland have a real chance.

England 17 Australia 9 HT.
But Australia have looked dangerous throughout the half. Far from over yet.

That was impressive. I thought we would win. I didn't think it would be by that margin. Well done England!!

The key was scoring those 10 points within 5 minutes of the Australia try.

The key was scoring those 10 points within 5 minutes of the Australia try. The Snickler try coming straight after they scored killed them.

Excellent performance from England. Aussies came out fast at the start of both halves but england were superb all over. Defended well, ran hard, and clinical finishing. Top stuff!

Did think Ireland stood a chance against the All Blacks today but New Zealand have battered them in the 1st half, and Ireland seem to have totally wilted under the pressure

NZ 29 Ireland 0 early in 2nd half.
So All Blacks will be playing England next week. And they are looking very impressive.

Shame for Ireland, they peaked about 2 years ago. Next Saturdays semi final is going to be massive. England will relish their underdog status.

Irish mate just messaged to say that that is Ireland's biggest ever WC defeat. I replied that it might be ours come next week. They did look very, very good NZ. They make so few mistakes.

I have to say that both England and New Zealand were very impressive today.
That promises to be one hell of a game next Saturday. I honestly think it could go either way.
