I hope he keeps them up - 48 years outside the EFL and their fans might never get to see them back there if they go straight down again. So, no sympathy with the Mariners and the Shrimpers then? Less.

Got a bit of sympathy with both clubs, got no sympathy for one of the managers though. Would be nice to see a relegation from the FL to add to his track record. 🙂

Ipswich say goodbye to Paul Lambert.
By "mutual consent" Assistant manager, Stuart Taylor, has also left Portman Road

Always thought Lambert was a decent manager. At what point will Ipswich realise that it's not the manager that is the problem?

I'm assuming that there won't be any relegation from the National League this season anyway, though Dover are pushing their luck by refusing to play.

It’s gone a bit quiet, but some top National North and South teams wanted to keep going with a combined mini league. I presume it’s not going to happen. In which case you wonder why the rush to sack managers at his stage of the season

Hopefully, they'll expunge Dover's results, which will mean 3 less points for Wrexham.

Getting Sheffield Utd to the premiership is as much as any manager can expect to do. Major achievement by Wilder who is a top manager. He wont be out of work long.

I've heard the club wants to restructure its management and Wilder would have been first team coach, presumably with a director of football brought in. He's probably a bit old school for that, and it's asking a lot of him to accept such a change mid-contract. On the other hand, they're clearly not Premier League standard and when better to begin a restructure than now?
So ends all the boyhood club, ex-ball boy stuff but he's a gnarly enough old pro to just get on with it elsewhere. He's had a lot to enjoy there and most managerial jobs end this way.

I'd like to see Barrow stay up if for no other reason than it is the back of beyond and residents would have quite a haul to get to another league ground...Carlisle and Morecambe I believe being the closest.

Barrow playing tonight at Walsall. Look to have just heaped a bit more pressure on PH as they have just taken the lead with 2 mins to go.
See Sadler still in the Walsall defence too. James Devitt playing for Barrow too.
