So both Bristol clubs are with temporary managers. Thank goodness we got SC when we did. Let’s hope Simmo is a success at City, then they won’t be visiting SC... to me it’s a no brained for the pair of them, he has shown he still has what it takes, and he is Bristol based and would jump at the chance. Rooting for Simmo, come on you can do it. At least SC knows he's loved here at Shrewsbury and pals with Roly. Let's hope that's enough. Plus he might not feel like taking on another big challenge while in recovery and with a us ticking over ok.

He did say when he took the job that he waited until the right ‘fit’ came along and he would be with people he could work with.

Wonder if Simpson will be signing his son? Perhaps he could get Elder on a free too?

All ifs and buts of course and you would think its certainly not on the cards now with Cotterill recovering but you do wonder what might have come about if Cotterill hadn't been taken ill. And its certainly one to keep an eye out on looking ahead once Cotterill is back on his feet.

If i was the owner of Bristol City, i would be looking at weather the guy is going to retire through ill health, if not, then recovery time would not be a factor to stop an approach.

I’m not sure about Wilbraham taking over just yet. We shouldn’t forget that SC is very much in touch at the moment. A tad more experience and then yes I’d go for Abraham. However, hopefully it’s all academic at the moment.
Interesting article in the Shropshire Star about how SC and Abraham met particularly how SC monitored him even on holiday before offering him a job.
It reminded me of Jimmy Quinn tackling Darren Tinson about coming here while on holiday.

I doubt football managers ever have a real holiday, a break completely away from work. It's probably the nature of the job that you are always thinking about it, and making phone calls, emails etc relating to work. Must be a nightmare for other halves

I can only imagine the uproar on here if we paid compensation for a manager who had been in work for three months in the last four years, been in hospital for one of those months & who may not attend a game for the remainder of the season.
I really cannot see Bristol City being interested at all, and if they were, I'd be pretty disappointed if Cotterill chose to leave.

Wrong time and place for sure. Dont know if we would be more concerned if things were a lot more like normal, would hope SC would stick by us as it seems him and RW have some long standing relationship which you would hope would be respected. I certainly dont see SC as a snake like type.

Now there's a potential opportunity for SR. The delights of Barrow.
Jolley's c.v. makes for interesting reading.
Jolley's "expletive-laden rant" to a BBC journalist had contributed to his departure from Grimsby after an off-record conversation had been captured on tape in which Jolley complained about excessively negative coverage of the team and swore multiple times.
Jolley was sacked by Barrow on 21 February 2021 after just seven games in the role, with the club occupying 23rd place in League Two. Chairman, Paul Hornby stated that the board and Jolley had a differing vision on how the team should play which ultimately lead to the decision to remove him as manager.
He was on a 2 and a half year contract!

Doubt they can afford to bring in anyone else when they've got over 2 years worth of Jolley's contract to pay off. Looking like 2 from 3 for the drop - Barrow, Southend and Mr Hurst's Club Grimsby. 9 point gap to the rest.

Trueman and Sellars appointed interim managers at Bradford until the end of the season. Could be a new version of Hollywood blockbuster The Trueman Show, starring a hologram of Peter Sellars.

Bound to be break clauses, especially for dropping into bottom 2

Bristol Rovers have some good players and are probably likely to avoid being relegated. Burton, Northampton, AFC Wimbledon and Wigan are my 4 for the drop. Swindon are 1st reserve.
