Bet Sunderland fans are well chuffed. There is no bigger club in England (they think). Bigger than Stoke so on the surface doesn't make much sense. Sunderland fans had only good things to say about him after our game last season.

Maybe on par at best, no way bigger. For a start Sunderland's ground holds nearly 20,000 more than Stoke's and even in the 3rd tier they were averaging around about Stoke's capacity. As for honours. Stoke has won 1 League Cup whereas Sunderland ......

Always debatable yet years spent in the top tier Stoke top it with 62 and only 58 for Sunderland which surprised me…..
Having said that Sunderland’s won the top tier 6 times to Stokes 0…….. other honours put Sunderland above Stoke
Average attendance Sunderland smash it no comparison………

Jim Bentley is a good choice for Rochdale. A good honest well respected lower league manager.

History would suggest that Bradford City is a bigger club than Bournemouth and even maybe (perish the thought) Wrexham is a bigger club than ours. Sunderland definitely, and there can be no argument, historically are a bigger club that Stoke and in the same league unlike your comparisons. Your argument about ground capacities only holds up if you use George Reynolds' Darlington Arena as an example (and that is possibly unique)

Wooooosh.

Funny seeing Stoke fans on Twitter quick to remind Sunderland fans that this is 'justice' for when the Mackams poached Steve Cotterill to become their assistant to Howard Wilkinson.
A strange decision then of which I've never been completely convinced of.

After the drubbing on saturday Scott Parker said they where ill equiped at this level and many saw that as a pop at the owners, tensions where too high I guess, still way too early

Yikes. The meme about Bournemouth losing 3-0, 4-0 and 9-0 but still being above Everton had only just been rolled out.

No doubts he'll get a two year deal in League Two and be sacked within 9 months.

Keith Hill at Scunny only managed 3 wins in 39 matches. Truely horrific stat for someone so experienced!

Had an awful start ti the season, but if anyone could turn things round its him. Must be something going on like no budget available to do the job. Wouldnt be surprised given their gates and the chairman running a very tight ship finance wise.

I do wonder given the rising cost of living/covid impacting on owners businesses whether club’s lower down will be tightening their purse strings accordingly. Leicester seem to be an example of this too.

Burton club statement: www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2022/september/0509-jfh/Hasselbaink on resigning from Burton Albion said: “I have taken the club as far as I can with the limited resources available..." He wasn't short of players last season and this one too, when you read their forum.

Good to know we will be facing club with the new manager bounce well underway in just a few short weeks. Quite possibly their first win of the season, it's written in the stars isnt it?
