We could also add Whalley as a forward option given he started up front last Saturday. Sake of argument Morison pulls up in the warm up tomorrow, do we have a like for like replacement on the bench? Of course not. If we are talking about a balanced squad then we should have cover for all positions, but if say Morison was out tomorrow then we would be stuck. Would we? I'd expect us to play Whalley and Okenabirhie in that case, with Udoh on the bench (and another striker likely to be joining soon). I agree the need for replacements to be available and think we will have (by September) but don't see why they must necessarily be like for like replacements. I might be wrong but I thought Udoh was out injured? That's one reason I thought we looked short of cover at the moment.

all these midfielders & grant still the best , oh well keep paying him for doing sweet fa. He wasn't even the best last season. I'm sure if someone wanted him, we'd let him go.

If we could turn back time and be granted a wish to bring back two players to play up front and balance the squad who would we fancy. Personally I would love to see the partnership of Bates and Haywood. I think they would thrive on the service provided by Giles and Whalley. Sometimes its nice to play fantasy football. Costs nothing.

There was alot of conversation regarding the lack of strength in depth after the Rotherham game, manager knows this and bolsters the midfield, guess what, he is still wrong. Don't see a problem with ball playing players playing in defence, some of the best teams in the last decade have used this to great success, it's not all about heading the ball.

Lets wait till the window closes and see if we are imbalanced then. A fair comment. I do hope we see another striker and centre-half in before then though. It's possible that the Grant saga is putting a spanner in the works transfer-wise, but generally you have to accept the manager's decision in disciplinary cases like this one.

If Grant has done something seriously wrong surely the club can terminate his contract with immediate effect !! Seeing that they have not done this I can not fathom why the manager doesn't play him, unless of course the other players have had a discussion and put it to the manager that they don't wish him to be in the team.
If this is the case the sooner he goes the better, even if they have to pay him off. But if he is still getting on with the rest of the squad he has to play, as we will be better with him in the side rather than him standing round doing nothing, but still being paid his salary.
