I can't recall such negativity for signings from a Premier League and a Championship club.
We need more from our strikers yes, and I'd say another striker to be signed too - which I expect to happen. But without a good midfield, it won't much matter who our strikers are because they'll get no service. Equally, with a better midfield, we're more likely to see our existing strikers find some form.
Oh well, I'm pleased anyway.

Lets give these lads our full support. They have decent pedigree and are young and hopefully hungry to succeed

Two that look to have real potential; not unhappy with these signings at all. Can see both playing at least some of the game on Saturday.

Call it a lack of enthusiasm then (certainly compared to the response seen on here to some signings), if negativity seems too strong.

Needed improvements in central midfield so good to see. How fit are they though? Thompson played in one pre-season game for Norwich but picked up an injury, that was in July. I don't think Goss has played in any pre-season games. They may need to be introduced gradually as neither is likely to be fully match fit due to lack of recent games. Ricketts speaking about Thompson today. " We are hoping to get him into the squad, get him some game time and get him up to speed."

Oh well, I'm pleased anyway. I think negative is harsh. Thompson is a fantastic signing if somehow we can keep him free of injury. But yes, nail on the head about midfield. We definitely need another striker to compete with who we have but midfield is the reason they’re so isolated imo. A good midfield brings our wing backs and strikers into play. It’s that position that is weakest currently imo, although to be fair that’s partly due to Grant/Norburn situations. Hopefully these two can improve things in there... seems like a make or break move for Goss’ to me, so hopefully he’ll prove a point to the Scottish and QPR lot.

I seem to remember Askey signing lots of midfielders, and getting criticism for it.
Anyway, these lads look like prospects, looking forward to seeing them play.

I can't recall such negativity for signings from a Premier League and a Championship club. Personally I'm disappointed as they aren't over 30 and/or didn't play for Wolves. Afterall, I was led to believe those are the only players we sign.

Oh well, I'm pleased anyway. Agreed. Most comments on here after our first 3 games were about how midfield wasnt quite working and possession stats suggest that too. So it’s a bit surprising there’s been such a low key response to signing two midfielders from higher divisions to help address that. Yes another forward is needed, but this looks like a good day’s business to me.

I sent a message in to Radio Shropshire on Tuesday night (sorry for mentioning Tuesday to those that were there) we have one striker that thrives on crosses into the box and one that lives on through balls and we can't supply either.

"I need to get them game time and get them up to speed" ? So the season is three games in and we're getting players in who aren't match fit. Again. We desperately need another forward. More than one actually if were going to stick with three at the back. Morrison will do nothing with this formation. To be its obvious. He needs balls coming from the side. Wolves kid left wing. Whalley right wing

How do you expect a League 1 team to be signing match fit players from the Premier League and Championship? Apart from the fact those clubs have only played 1 or 2 games, these players wouldn't be coming here if they'd been playing in their teams, would they? Getting them "up to speed" doesn't necessarily mean they've not been training with their squads in pre-season. They're obviously not up to speed with our squad and the way we're trying to play and they won't have played much in pre-season if they weren't part of their managers' plans, but it doesn't mean they're coming here unfit.
