Not gone down well with some Chester fans on Twitter, which is fair enough but I wonder if Graham Barrow had something to do with this given his association with that city.

TBH I'm pretty gutted that chester and Rexham arnt in our league (or below)... Cant beat a bit of local rivalry. Telford seem to be on the up with Cowan in charge so maybe that will change soon

Whoops forgot Southport who lost their League place in 1978 being replaced by Wigan Athletic! They were last club to be voted out of the FL.

I suppose they feel the same as we would if Wolves or even Walsall started an elite academy in Shrewsbury...Does seem strange unless it was in Whitchurch or on the Cheshire border with Chester as the catchment area?
Having said that Chester University has satalite facilities in Shrewsbury so maybe similar

All the best talent will be snapped up by Liverpool or the Manchester clubs anyway.
We will get what's left and Chester the scraps.
Chester fans are just upset because of the level we play at, and once, a long time ago it seems, we were'rivals'.
Understandable really I suppose.

Morley and Johnson are two of the biggest bullies in football. If it annoys them, carry on doing it.

That was my way of thinking towards it as well, to be fair apart from that spell where Kevin Ratcliffe joined us, Ian Atkins joined them and we battled it out to avoid the drop to Non League I don't think we've ever truly been rivals? I guess the first game Ben Davies played for us against them (Stewart Drummond was a former Chester player as well I think) was a bit feisty as well, and that nice chap Vaughan (whose son is now destroying Bangor City) getting involved in the post match ruck in the tunnel...

I suffered the misfortune of being curious over the Sky Salford documentary and these two whoppers were hilarious. Absolutely ****ing clueless their players were basically laughing at them. I say we should also go full bore and absorb the entire city of Chester into the historic market town of Shrewsbury.

Don't like this from the club, shouldn't be doing it. The fact there are no rules against it is no excuse. Decisions about how you operate as a club, act as a person etc should always be done with consideration as to how you would feel if the roles were reversed. We've no business invading their territory.

Surprising move, might as well have been in Telford to attempt to stem the flow of talented youngsters to Wolves.
Or, let's go the whole hog and see if any Bury facilities are available, we could poach some Man U youngsters who wanted to aim for a future in football but were not quite sure they could be the next big thing there.
