Good luck to both of these lads on their Premier League debuts this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how they get on.

They were both top lads, who came to us with a good work attitude.

I’ll be watching Godfrey tonight on the box Norwich away v Liverpool. Deano in action 3pm tomorrow Bournemouth v Sheffield United.
Good luck to both and hopefully an England call up for both will be forthcoming.

Great to see them both there, a rapid rise to the top.
Good luck to them, I’m sure both of them will do a fantastic job.

I hope Villa get a tanking off Spurs tomorrow - only because a Villa-supporting colleague, having just said that we were the only team apart from RB Leipzig that gave them a game in pre-season, went on to say Villa had only played "crap teams" in pre-season (apart from Leipzig), whereas Spurs had been playing top teams.
He did say "with respect" at the time but, with respect, he can do one!

Men v Boys at Anfield, Norwich defenders quickly finding out there is a gulf between the Championship and the Premier League.

New rule requirement: Referee able to stop the contest to "avoid further punishment"?

New rule requirement: Referee able to stop the contest to "avoid further punishment"? By the end we know why that rule would never be considered. Norwich "won" the second half and that's got to be a confidence boost. Godfrey doing well too.

Norwich's season won't be defined by games like this, it was good to see them improve in the second half but Liverpool had taken their foot off the gas by then. Liverpool didn't look all that secure at the back themselves at times tonight.

I know Norwich got hammered it I had to applaud how they played they attacked from the start and if that German didn’t fluff his lines could of been two up

I dislike Liverpool as much as the next man, but they absolutely pasted Norwich all over the place last night it was embarrassing to watch. It's what happens when you get promoted and spend £1.1M.

Armchair pundits... Eesh.
Norwich's season will not be defined by games like Liverpool away.
Nor was 15 shots to 12 (7 on target to 5) and 58/42 possession a hiding, beating, thrashing, pasting or any other such word.
Let's not forget this Liverpool team beat Barca 4-0. Norwich have a ridiculously tough start (Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham, Man City...) but they will do well over the course of the season - having seen them last year, they're a brilliant team with such fight and camaraderie and I rate their coach highly.

men v boys ? which was which second half ? Second half was men coasting v boys Did you watch the game At one point in the first half Norwich had had 5 shots to Liverpool’s 1 and found themselves 2-0 down I know it’s only goals that count but as usual people on here judge a book by its cover

You asked about the second half, all over by then and Liverpool coasting

Always likely that Norwich would be caught in the headlights away to the European champions first game. Spending millions on a bunch of supposedly PL-ready players wouldn't have changed that. I'm sure Liverpool eased up but it seems that Norwich finding their feet as the game went on was also a factor in the way the second half went.

Someone said on 5Live yesterday that Norwich had more shots on Friday than any other team at Anfield last season - if Liverpool were coasting in Friday's 2nd half, they were coasting in plenty of games last season too!

Handling error from 'Dean the Clean' today... lucky for Liverpool! Back to basics. Always make sure that you get some part of your body behind your hands in circumstances like that. He does seem to be making a few more errors now that he is playing at the top level. He must learn from them, and quickly.
