For those on the train to the Dons, just heard the end of a news bulletin on the radio, overhead cable damage between Birmingham and Coventry. Didn’t catch if there were any hold ups, might be best to check first.

Just checked and I don't think it's possible to get the train in time for kick off now. Major delays!
Feel bad for anybody who's bought their train ticket already.

Surely Shrewsbury to Milton Keynes via Crewe isn't affected?

Surely Shrewsbury to Milton Keynes via Crewe isn't affected? Yes, you're right! Town fans leaving from Shrewsbury station will have to go via Crewe. Closest station to Stadium MK is 'Fenny Stratford'. By buying a ticket to there instead of Milton Keynes saves you around £25-30 despite having to go through Milton Keynes station anyway! Bizarre how they work that out.

Surely Shrewsbury to Milton Keynes via Crewe isn't affected? Not affected, goes through Nuneaton rather than Coventry. The only info I have seen regarding the Coventry / Brum problem says it will be sorted by 5pm today.

Surely Shrewsbury to Milton Keynes via Crewe isn't affected? Think you are partly right on that, the fast train from the North, heading through Stafford heads off down through Nuneaton/Rugby, most of the replacement buses are around the Coventry/Northampton area. The Virgin services don't touch that line usually, but the slow train does if I remember rightly. Re HS2, shows the new lines we really want are East/West to get to Stansted, Felixstowe, atc. and trans-Pennine.

Yes, this should be fixed. But as a Town supporter you know that something else will come along and bugger things up.
