pre season friendlies MKDons scored 13 goals conceeded 5
they drew with Oxford lost to northampton and beat four non league teams.
they have a virtually new team with 11 players leaving and 12 players coming in.
the midfielders Boateng and Houghton have got on the scoring sheet and seem useful , the forward who seems to have done well in match reports is Asoganyi
MkDons first league game was cancelled so they have had extra traing during the week.
the pattern of how town play seems to have become established, it would be nice if we could start more brightly and see more of the wing backs.
towns midfield need to work on there comunication and we dont wont a repeat of the portsmouth game were they were able to walk through the midfield by expoliting the spaces.
i hope we see some balls on the ground for Ferjiri
i dont expect any changes for the starting 11 or formation, dont know if Laurent will be fit for the subs bench so that might be one change.
with Jo Murphy back in training you would expect him to be on the subs bench at some point, with O'Leary doing such a good job he may be warming the bench ,if fit we might see him in Carabao cup on the 13th of August.

Same starting XI as last Saturday - play Vincelot and Edwards slightly deeper and give McCormick a little more room behind the front two. Keep Laurent (if fit) and Whalley on the bench as impact players. If Laurent is still struggling with his muscle injury, I’d expect Rowlands to come off the bench.
Any news on Eisa?

The Franchise key signing was probably their forward Rhys Healey, signed permanently from Cardiff in the summer, after having a very successful loan with them last season.
An interesting signing this summer was another forward Jordan Bowery from Crewe, he was very highly rated as a youngster when Villa signed him from Chesterfield and he then moved for big money again to Rotherham. In recent years he's turned into a lower league journeyman and did nothing to stand out at Crewe last season, so it looks like Tisdale has taken a punt on him.

Waterfall up front with Morrison. Tisdale wont have planned for that.

Waterfall up front with Morrison. Tisdale wont have planned for that. i think you would get good odds from the bookies for that forward combination tomorrow's weather forecast for milton keynes is strong winds for the length of the game, as town responce when the wing backs can go forward is the long ball or through the midfield, it will be intresting to see how the long ball works out.

Playing away from home we need to soak up the pressure and hit them on the break. As such I'd start Whalley as right wing back. Saying that I'd also start Whalley there if we were playing at home. Your best attacking weapon has to start and in this system I can't see where else he could play.

Ricketts was saying in midweek that Laurent is injured. That's a blow because he looked lively and put us on the front foot. I'd have picked him ahead of McCormick for tomorrow. MK will be all fired up for their first game so I suspect our defence might be the key to how we do tomorrow. I'd certainly take a repeat of last Saturday but a draw would be ok.

Bookies seem to have this one down as a home banker; www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1Franchise 7/5 vs 23/10 for the away win. Justified? Seems a little unfair to me, given our opening day result and the fact Franchise are newly promoted.

In a lot of L1 games I’d agree with you, but we shouldn’t be going to Milton Keynes and looking to sit back and soak up pressure then counter, can’t see them being a top side this season so we need to go after these kind of teams.

Shame about the injury to Laurent, thought he made a difference when he came on last weekend.
Will be interesting to see how Whalley does alongside Morison, looks like Okenabirhie dropped after failing to impress against Pompey.
If we defend like last Saturday MK Dons will have to find something special to get past our back line - hope we can create a bit more, though.

Feji didn't really do enough last week so fair enough to drop him. Laurent not fit presumably?

Hope his injury isn't too bad Similarly with Williams, hopefully just early season niggles as players get fully match fit rather than anything longer term.

Think we are struggling in midfield. Vincelot has been good but McCormick and Edwards have been poor.
Whalley and Giles have played very well and look like the most likely to make something happen.
A decent half.

Very good travelling numbers. Sounds like we’ve had the best chances so expecting this will finish 1-0 to the home side.
