Let's start a thread about Tranmere, Port Vale, and every other club that has a former manager in charge. Not a bad shout in fairness. Let’s do it like that time we both went skinny dipping together in the flooded Severn near the Mytton and Mermaid at Atcham. You go first and I’ll follow - you make a Tranny thread and I’ll start the Vale one. Now now I thought we agreed that would remain between you and me, and don't get me started on Tranny as that makes me cross (dressed).

Also that cold water of the mighty severn can make a man feel very inadequate.

I am exceedingly well thank you . This is despite reading your latest offerings on this board . The thought of you skinny dipping with cheggers leaves me feeling a bit queasy to say the least . Somehow I keep on picturing you fooling around with a set of hand cuffs and a large policeman’s helmet ⛑. Back to the topic in hand . I need no advice from you on the use of punctuation thank you . .,-:;’v and ((;/“$. Content is the main discourse when perusing the written word as you will know doubt know from your work falsifying witness statements . This , of course , proceeds you getting unceremoniously thrown out of the force to join the staff of what was once known as BR . Tickets please . You still haven’t answered my original question . Don’t avoid it, be a man and step up to the plate . I thank you in anticipation . Toodles .

The Japanese have ways and means to get 98 plus percent conviction rates, that's why the Nissan boss exited stage right.

Do we really need to keep talking about them now and in particular, one man? We all need to move on although the day PH returns with his side to the Meadow will be an interesting occasion. I assumed that this thread couldn’t be about bitter folk hoping Paul Hurst fails, because that would be pretty lacking in class and make us look dreadfully tinpot to anyone who happened to cross this forum. Therefore, upon examining the evidence the only other conclusion I could reach is that there is a special bond between us and Scunny and people wish to keep abreast of developments at Glanford Park. In this difficult moment, we all must remember this post of mine which gained unprecedented engagement via DMs, tweets, etc. (And I’m not talking about Cheney Joseph routinely flouting copyright by repeatedly using my photo of the Grenadian national team lined up during the anthem prior to playing St Kitts and Nevis). This thread simply can’t be about mortgagehound starting an anti-Hurst tirade, it would be so lacking in class and tinpot that I don’t regard it as a possibility. Imagine how he’d be making us look as a fanbase to casual visitors if that were the case LOL?! Therefore, there MUST be a special bond between us and “Scunny”. Therefore that special bond must be honoured via ”Scunny” updates.

Still a bit despondent this morning after the 2-0 reverse at home to Cambridge. Was feeling really confident about 7.30 last night that Scunny could get something from the game. Similar to the feeling and identical to the scoreline we had versus Accrington I suppose.
Hopefully they can rebound this weekend away at Swindon but that’s a tough fixture for sure.

Swindon vs Sc***horpe called off an hour before kick off...
Poor timing that for both home and especially away fans who've made the journey.

Myself, Inspector Swan, Chirkshrew, salop27, Liam and Dooble weren't far away at all when the sad news broke that the game was off. Sure, we made a day of it in the finest CAMRA haunts Swindon had to offer (with a cheeky O'Neills visit for Doobs), but it was a bitter blow.

Don't know why this thread doesn't get updated as much these days, very strange.
Anyway, for those of us still invested in Sc***horpe's season (and there must be a few of us, given how many posts were being made in this thread at the start of the season) a 2-0 home defeat for the Iron today sadly, Luke Waterfall on the scoresheet for Grimsby. Got a feeling he used to play for us actually!

Yeah, he did play for us in fairness to the lad. Signed his contract in the Costa Coffee in the Keele Services on the M6, with Askey in attendance if I recall correctly. He was on either £1,800 or £1,900 per week - I forget which - although martinshrew will be able to confirm (along with Waterfall’s national insurance number).
Used to like Waterfall but not sure I’m too delighted about him sticking it in the Scunny net. A bitter personal blow for both them and us to lose today certainly.

Like everyone else in Shrewsbury, I am a keen follower of events over at Glanford Park and care deeply about the fate of every Salopian's second club.
I do therefore worry about the potential effects of these coronoavirus cancellations on Sc***horpe's finances. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that I hope they manage to muddle through.

Town are financially pretty stable but Brian Caldwell has pointed out that even for us it is going to be difficult without gate money and the spin offs with catering and hospitality so goodness knows how some clubs are going to manage. Also difficult for the many youngsters who work in catering on match days with many being casual on zero hours.

Anyone else watch Sc***horpe see off Charlton in the first round of the FIFA Quaran-team tournament last night? Last minute winner from Kevin van Veen to progress, absolute limbs in my living room when that went in...I’ve left the clean-up operation until this morning ;-)

Thought I was going to be deafened when Kevin stroked the ball home though, such was Doob's roar!

Any news from the out of contract players at Glanford Park? Was hoping one of the page 1 regulars would have let us know by now, shame. Thought this was a good read: News is starting to trickle in over the past few weeks. Since mortgagehound first alerted me to the special Salop-Scunny relationship last season, I’ve been avidly following both clubs social media channels, so I’d consider myself fairly well informed. I can’t quite believe I’m the person breaking this on here given the number of fans whose emotional state depends upon events at Glanford Park, but the key ins and outs so far are as follows: Ins Lewis Spence - Ross County - really like the look of this guy, a good age and hopefully has a good re-sale value to Scunny Tyler Cordner and Frank Vincent also in on loan from Bournemouth Outs Rory McArdle - Exeter - bit of a shame this one, always had been one of my favourites in the Iron team James Perch - Mansfield Adam Hammill - Derry City Cameron Burgess - Accrington Overall a lot of higher earners the wrong side of 30 have gone. Some more signings like Lewis Spencer to complement the likes of McAtee, Eisa and Gilliead and I’ll officially start to dream!
