Congrats to Paul Hurst, Alex Gilliead, Abo Eisa and John McAtee for their 2-0 win today against Leyton Orient. That is a fine result on the road and one which they can rightly be proud of.

Great goal by Gilliead, although more often than not he would totally go missing in games last season, most definitely a 'luxury player'. Good win for Scunny but do we really need to keep talking about them now and in particular, one man? We all need to move on although the day PH returns with his side to the Meadow will be an interesting occasion.

Gave us our best season in a generation no doubt. That said, I'm very happy with the job Ricketts is doing. Another window could really shape this side into play-off contenders.

I assumed that this thread couldn’t be about bitter folk hoping Paul Hurst fails, because that would be pretty lacking in class and make us look dreadfully tinpot to anyone who happened to cross this forum. Therefore, upon examining the evidence the only other conclusion I could reach is that there is a special bond between us and Scunny and people wish to keep abreast of developments at Glanford Park.

Cue the why did we let him go thread, mainly because he wasn't that good and L2 is his standard at this moment.

Hurst once again displaying his only Achilles Heel by taking that farcical competition too seriously.
Hopefully Sc***horpe's equivalent of B&As very own Paul* is currently bigging up what will surely turn out to be one of the club's all time great days on their forum.
*Never did see him on here again after the defeat to Lincoln, very strange.

Get in! Gilliead goal away at Forest Green, which is a tough fixture. Would be phenomenal if Scunny can hold on here.

Hurst really turning Sc***horpe around now. A big win in their local derby today and into the top half of the table. They're looking a good bet for the playoffs on current form.

To add to the positive vibes, a great result for Lee Angol's Leyton Orient today away at Cambridge. Seemed from the stats that Cambridge just couldn't deal with the boy Angol's explosive pace in the first half, as they raced into a three goal lead. A cameo appearance from Town legend Matt Harrold really capping off what's got to go down as a great day in the history of our football club Great to see so many of our former managers and players doing well, hope the positive spirit this thread was started in can continue throughout the season.

Wonder what sort of reception PH got from the Grimsby faithful? He didnt exactly cover himself with glory the way he left Blundell Park, although probably trumped that by the way he left us.

www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/oldham-athletic-sc***horpe-united-hurst-3697118" Sc***horpe United manager Paul Hurst praised the impact of Abo Eisa after the Iron secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Oldham.
Eisa added another spectacular goal to his collection when he curled a shot in from the edge of the box in the first half before Matthew Lund added a second late on to secure the win.
Hurst was delighted with his winger who has now scored seven goals so far this season." Good to see him doing well.
