Speaking of bitterness slightly OT, did anyone see Klopp's comments about Tottenham from the weekend? I can't believe Spurs had the audacity not to bend over and play exactly into Liverpool's hands, letting them beat them 5-0 in the process

Hopefully, Northampton will still go up via the playoffs.
Certainly preferable to Port Vale.

Keith Hill's another one of these frauds that consistently gets jobs for reasons unknown. Although I don't think he's done anything wrong in this case. If Northampton's case is resting on the fact that Sc***horpe 'didn't play their strongest squad' then I'd love to know who should have played given that their best has amassed a grand total of 26 points all season. Cobblers have ended the season with 4 wins from 5 and enter the playoffs in decent form. They should be concentrating on the fairly decent chance they've still got of going up. The twenty minute delays also relevant as BR knew what score they had to beat when they all kick off at the same time to avoid thisâŚ.

Anyone else going to watch us against t'Blades tomorrow? Don't get to watch The Iron as much as I'd like to, but you have to take these occasions where we're not playing on the same day as mine and Jaytee's second team (Salop) when you can.
Good to keep the Hound Kompany after tonight's result too, he's insisting on getting in two hours before kick off to collect his pre-ordered third choice kit from Ironside (the name of the Club Shop at Glanny Park, for the few of you who won't be aware of that). Sponsored by BMW, other non-league clubs could only dream of such multi-billion dollar companies sponsoring them.
I've a feeling we'll put in a statement performance in front of a bumper crowd. 5-1, even 'Tafty' scored.

Scunny blow a 3-0 lead to lose 3-4 to Solihull Moors. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62529455I know a half dozen who post on here ended up making the trek to Lincolnshire on Saturday. While they were rewarded with seven goals, I imagine it was a tough loss to take. My commiserations.

Scunny in the bottom 4 as well. Oldham also made a slow start. Brings me out into a cold sweat thinking about ever dropping out of league again.

Indeed, the most fortunate slice of good fortune our club has ever had was dished out in 2004, we will probably end up back there one day⌠but hey we may be able to go and attack more đ

Indeed, the most fortunate slice of good fortune our club has ever had was dished out in 2004, we will probably end up back there one day⌠but hey we may be able to go and attack more đ The difference with us in 2003 was that the seeds were already sown towards a better future. We went down with these in place. A cup run that had brought in much needed revenue. A youth policy that was starting to pay dividends. If you go down with the club still in some sort of turmoil you will struggle undoubtedly. We had turned the corner.

Commiserations to the supporters, players and officials of Scunny. Given the bond between our clubs, this one hits a little harder.
I know our resident half-and-half Salop // Scunny scarf-wearer had arranged several minibuses of Salopians (who would otherwise have been at Oakwell) to attend today. Respect to one and all of the two score who went along to cheer on the Iron, I understand there was an understandable undertone of gallows humour on the way back!
On the plus side, plenty of new grounds to visit in the National League North next yearâŚ

I don't expect Sc***horpe to be back in the football league any time soon.
Poorly run club in recent years and poorly supported by the local town.
I can see another Darlington emerging with donkeys years spent in the non league wilderness

Another abject defeat yesterday, 2-0 away at Chester. From the little I know, about two dozen Salopians made the short trip to Cheshire / Wales to cheer on the Iron. Clearly their gamble on affairs at the Meadow being turgid didnât pay off!
Three of the aforementioned awaydayers made an appearance whilst very well refreshed at the Wheatsheaf late yesterday evening. They certainly werenât complimentary about âourâ (ie Scunnyâs) display.
Where do âweâ go from here?
[As an aside, I hear Charles Caton notched for Chester. Bloody typical Salop, releasing Premier League potential gems!]

Not the result any of us wanted, other than Young Charlie Caton (YCC) of course, but what a find Ye Old Boot Inn was. A few of us going back there for a Christmas social with the Cheshire Claret and Blue (CCB) who it was great to connect with and made the day worthwhile.
DM if you want the details to join, all welcome.

What a win, 6-0 is pure class. They're not signing Spennymoor.

As a neutral Iâd have put you as favourites to progress to the final, so I expect your hopes were sky high! One only imagines your mood on the trip home wasnât improved by former Salopian favourite Cameron Gregory turning in an inspired display for Boston, including saving the all-important penalty. Hereâs to your lot getting promotion in 2024/25!

Disastrous to have to spend another season in NLN.
Incidentally I see that all 3 play offs in NLN so far have ended 0-0 after extra time and gone to pens!

I am desperate for Sc***horpe to be back in the football league any time soon. A little surprised that neither yourself or anyone else in the âShropshire Ironâ commented on the fixture release on Wednesday. Away first day at Brackley looks tricky, doubtless youâre at the friendly today to get some advance intel ahead of the 10 August needle match. Which other Scunny matches will you and the Shropshire Iron be attending this season?
