Shrewsbury Town Away Supporters Football Club - Return?
A lot of you will be aware of its existence over the years from it being Established in the 1980s though to about 2015 when sadly the team folded and no games have been played since.
I have been thinking about trying to bring it back as it was a great part of the fan culture during that time from staff games, to meeting fans away from home and just the fun playing with fellow fans.
At this stage, i'm after an idea of who would be interested in playing in 4-6 home games vs other teams this year before home games to get it going again?
If you played before or want to get involved for the first time that's great.
If you are interested can you DM @b_and_A_Fanzine on twitter, or send me a Message on here.
If I can get 20 odd fans who are interested in this, will take if from there and see if we can build this thing back up - All ages welcome.
Cheers

Good luck with that. Perhaps we could discover the new Dave Edwards... On a side note, do B&A still have those games played in the stadium at the end of the season? I did that the once and that was a great day out, really good fun. Having notched the only goal in a 1-0 win with a delightful chip over the keeper may have had something to do with it, mind. Blimey, that must have been ages ago...

Cheers
No, not been a B and A game for years and even the staff games for the ASFC stopped when the team folded.
There were great through. Scored my only New Meadow goal with a banging header from an Ant Thomas cross off the under side of the bar out of the grasp of Whitters!
Also those staff game allowed me to take two records
The last person to kick a ball out of the stadium with an awful shot in a game at Gay Meadow The last person to get sent off at the Gay Meadow...
What a couple of records eh!
That staff game was the last ever game played on the GM pitch in 2007 before the stadium got wrecked the next day!

I'd certainly be interested in rolling out for a couple of games as I've been starved of competitive 11-aside action, particularly as I'm hitting my physical peak. Although it would be fully dependant on the answers to the following questions...
1) Is Evo playing? 2) If not, how many goals behind him am I? 3) Is Soupy still playing for Kidderminster?

1) Unconfirmed 2) Several 3) We certainly all hope so!
Will keep you in the loop dear boy... JK has confirmed a return to goal so that's got to be worth coming back just to watch.

Good luck in putting this together. Yes would be interested in anything like this but at my age it had better be walking football or an admin role. Keep me informed though will you.

If you do get a team together it may be worth contacting Bury to see if you can represent them in the opening match at MK Dons with Northwestman as manager.

Funny thing is the Bury fans team contacted us asking for a game when the two teams meet in the season I said to put a pin in that for the moment

UPDATE on the STFC ASFC.
Over 50 fans got in contact asking about playing for the relaunched team which was bloody amazing. I have sent out emails to all of those who provided me with an email setting out the way forward.
If you haven't got it, or are someone new wanting to be involved, please drop me a message with an email address so you can be included going forward.
It has been a great start, but with LOTS of hurdles to jump over yet... but its on its way back!

So when do you think anything will be organised then? I know of two supporters clubs connected to clubs in our league who would be very keen to arrange reciprocal visits. Can a meeting not be arranged to "get the ball rolling" so to speak.

I have been away on holdiay, but a first test game has been arranged vs Rochdale, and the week after its planned to have a internal game to see whos ready for a season of home and away games.
In terms of getting games sorted, we re joined the IFA and all the supporters teams should be part of that. I would suspect by the end of the week coming up now im back from holiday i might have 10-15 games sorted.
However drop me a line on here with the teams that would be intrested and I can sort.
