I see that we are entertaining Dundee Utd at MWM on last Saturday of July. Makes a change from the usual opposition, but I wish it was away as it would be another new ground to tick off. Unless the cup draws are kind, I will only add Ipswich this season to the other 140 odd.

There is a good mixture of opposition for the pre-season games arranged so far.
Dundee United have made an offer to Lawrence Shankland so we could get to see what all the fuss is about, although he's probably likely to accept an offer elsewhere.

Yes, good to see different clubs in friendlies.
Anyone else remember playing Arbroath at GM around 1970? Think we won 3-2.

I was hoping we might get a game like this so I'll probably go to this one. Rather this one than Villa actually - intriguing.

Not quite sure why The Tangerines would want a friendly at this point of the season. They're already involved in their league cup competition. There are 5 teams in each group, and it's their turn not to have a game.
I hope we thrash them as revenge for their jammy 3 - 0 win over the mighty Blue Brazil, Cowdenbeath.

i hope Shankland plays obviously a new team for him to get used to, if they have done there homework you would expect them to have watched the villa game and looked how they tried to nulified our wing backs by playing high up the pitch and using the width of the pitch, they also focused on our left back who Villa must have thought was the weak link in defence. against villa town kept there formation and shape , so let us hope we can dominate the midfield more and be more clinical in front of goal.

So far they have played three prea season games winning 1 / drawing 1 / and losing 1 . they have also been competing in the Betfred cup a group then knockout competition open to all scottish proffessional league teams , they have won 1 / drawn 1 and lost 1.
in total they have scored 15 goals and conceded 8 .

if the weather forecast is correct it should be cooler and less humid with light rain and a light breaze and 19c. i wonder how many Dundee fans will make such a long journey for a pre season friendly ,especially as they have a number of cup games plus pre season friendly games.

A few Arab fans knocking about in town this morning. One even wearing the obligatory kilt, and one, the even more obligatory Jimmy hat.

it would be nice if town can have a good performance with some goals in the last pre season game before a tough start against Portsmouth

No idea how the standard of our 3rd matches up against the 2nd north of the border. Makes it's a tad more intriguing then you're normal preseason game, be interesting to see how in plays out. As already mentioned, nice to have such a game (a break from the norm)... Do hope the Town faithful give the visiting supporters a nice welcome anyhow, a bit of appreciation. Its a hell of a way to come...👍

thought Lenny the lion looked very nice in his kilt!
thought town were poor in the first half very slow and ponderous , Dundee played high up the park and parked two wingers on the half way line nuliffying the wing backs , i cant remmeber either of our wings backs getting over the half way line that often and they wont when they have to mark two wingers.
whilst towns defence communicate and are a lot more vocal than last season, they got opened up three times with a diaganole pass and a well timed run also on two occassions from corners / crosses Williams did pick not the player who dropped off him to then get a free header.
i thought the player was off side but Dundee scored from a penalty.
town looked to play it from the back but due to no out ball , they passed it from side to side or back to the keeper and were very slow and ponderous and were limited to a number of route one balls. Vincelot was trying to be a link up player but the midfield was rather congested, thought town were lucky to get a soft penalty and Okenabirhie emphatcily smashed it home. town lucky to go in equal when Dundee hit the bar. town really lacked a midfield general today, no real plan B for town in the first half.
a much better second half by town, better pace ,better movment , played higher up the park with some good runs from the wing back. Ricketts spent a lot of the second half screaming play wide and press. morrison and Okenabirhie linked up together Okenabirhie who was very brave to go for a header with a good chance he was going to get a knock. lot of subs by Dundee united, town did really well to limit hte chances and possession by Shankland only had one chance were fortunently for town he scuffed his shoot. town again caught out by not picking the players who drops off the defenders for corners / crosses.
