He's not "out there", that's just the mask he wears to disguise the nastiness. He's far too divisive a character to unite the country. As for his supposed charm, Evelyn Waugh captured it well in Brideshead Revisited: "Charm is the great English blight. It does not exist outside these damp islands. It spots and kills anything it touches." All ill say in response is that i respect your opinion. Time will tell if either myself or you are right in our opinions. Ill put my arms up if im wrong. Im just going with my gut feeling which is normally not far off the mark. Just out of interest who would you like to become PM if you don't mind me asking? Regards pepi Hard for me to say as I'm not a Tory, so my automatic reply would be "none of the above"! I do think it's a bad bunch - there are better and more able Tories not standing. Of those that are, I'd go with Rory Stewart. As you say, we'll see how it goes.

It would seem only fair to point out that a number of these places do have Tory representation in parliament. I don't remember defending the Tories.

Bizarrely these places, neglected by the UK main parties, are the very places that probably voted Leave and receive most investment from the EU which makes up for the under funding by London to some extent. As has been said many times, too many turkeys voted for Xmas.

Universally recognised as the worst foreign secretary ever.
Racist.
Privileged.
Liar.
And people are happy with him being PM.
Blimey.

The EU have access to 80% of our fishing waters. We don't have 80% of BMW. We don't have 80% of French wine.......mind you, that is s**t......

Great to see Chuka Umunna join the Liberal non democrats. His third political party in 4 months. I'll bet he could give Harry Houdini a run for his money. Don't turn your back on him boys and girls.

The parallels between Boris and Trump are frightening. Where are any politicians of integrity? All future meetings between the two will be held in a children’s ball pond.

I hope Rory Stewart gets it, the best of a bad bunch and I have always found him to talk sense in interviews.
I have never voted Tory, I don’t expect I ever will, but someone like Stewart would be the most sensible option at this moment in time.
Sensible doesn’t seem to be an option in politics anymore though.

Of course it's ours but they prioritise those areas that need it, unlike Westminster who just provide soundbites like the Northern Whatsoever and do very little about it. As regards fishing rights, we sold off much of our entitlement to other EU countries, so largely our own fault.

Meanwhile Boris changes his tune with virtually every day. He is in the same party but nobody really knows what he will say next. A real possibility is that he will revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU. That was a position he passionately held until he converted overnight. Unlike St Paul on the road to Damascus, his conversion was simply naked ambition.

He gets my vote. I know he's a bit out there, but i think the country needs something abit different at this very tender time. I believe he will bring the country together in his own charming way and that will be his biggest weapon in reuniting the country going forward. Something im afraid Mr corbyn couldnt and hasn't got. He's certainly one of the country's biggest weapons, you got that right at least.

The sooner this fish stealing is stopped the better. Under both Labour and the Tories places like Grimsby and Hartlepool have suffered badly. Do you know how many full time fishermen there are in Fleetwood? The answer is none.

Par for the course in Westminster also but with the added bonus of walking into highly lucrative jobs on leaving as an MP or even when they are MPs !!!. Boris £250k a year from the Telegraph for spouting s**te is the prime example

I wouldn't be impressed if I had voted for him as my MP. I would be wondering what he actually now believes in. He should put it to his constitutes to see if they still have faith in him as an MP.

I think it was wishful thinking on my behalf! It would however be interesting to know what his own constituents think about his latest move, especially the 38,000 Labour supporters who voted him in at the last election in one of the safest Labour seats in the country.

Anything with a red rosette will be voted in at Streatham, so Mr Ummuna had better start looking for a seat in one of the Remain supporting university towns and try to justify Nick Clegg's reneging on his promise re student tuition fees. Taking over Cable's Twickenham seat might be another option.
