Judging by Ricketts comments in the paper and reading between the lines I can only assume that:
a) A deal has been struck for Norburn and he may well be on his way in the next few days.
b) Gilliead, Haynes and Angol are most probably likely on their way out also.
c) Eisa may be potentially loaned out or sold.
I’m sure we have a few deals in the pipeline that are being worked on as we speak. There are a lot of decent players available at the moment and hopefully our reputation as a club that develops youngsters will see us attract some potentially exciting signings over the coming weeks.

I would love to see Abo Eisa have a good preseason and challenge for a first team place. Something about a pacy winger to get you on the edge of your seat.
Sam Jones has to go as he is the forgotten man of STFC.

Personally wouldn’t be bothered with any of the aforementioned leaving.
If we get £4/500k for Norburn, it equates to a very sound investment in 1 year, for a player who, whilst by no means bad, didn’t set the world alight at this level

To be honest, I wouldn’t be that arsed if Norburn left. Although better in the second half of the season, his constant moaning and sniping surely must grate on the players after a while?
Jones’ Salop career won’t live too long in the memory bank!!
Angol is clearly his own worst enemy. And a seemingly disruptive influence.
Gilliead would be great if he added consistency to his game.
Haynes is the one I would like to see more of - especially as a wing back in a 3-5-2. He offers much more than Golbourne going forward (although SG has the edge on defending).
Whatever happens, there is definitely work to be done on this squad over the summer.

Gillead is consistent - unfortunately he's consistently missing in action. Need to try and offload him asap. He's a nothing sort of player. Haynes is such a poor defender even in a 3-5-2. After Rochdale away last season I hoped I'd never see him again. Norburn really grew on me as the season went on. I thought he really stepped forward in the second half of the season in a very mediocre team. Given we know he can perform at this level why sell him unless we get n offer we can't refuse? Sam Jones I'd totally forgotten about he needs to move on for his own career sake. No idea how we will shift AAH before his contract's up.

I also wouldn’t lose sleep if Norburn left, especially for decent money. Seemed a loose cannon for much of season, collecting stupid cards.

This is the player who for me stepped up big style in the second half of the season scored many vital penalties at crucial times and was given the captains armband over Waterfall and Grant. Keep him if we can course an offer of £500k would be a no brainier

I would be very disappointed if we sold Norburn, unless it is for stupid money. Definitely improved as the season went on, and was excellent in the 2nd half of the season.

We paid 300k for Mr Norburn so I would be hoping for considerably more than 500k

We paid 300k for Mr Norburn so I would be hoping for considerably more than 500k I've been thinking about this and I'd take anything more than double, so £600k upwards. He's not that good, and I feel we paid our record fee for the wrong "Nor"

We paid £250k for him so I’d expect him to go for about £500-600k Don’t get me wrong, he is a decent CM but I’m sure you could find a better replacement for half of that fee. Leaves a lot of money to be spent for a much needed rebuild too.

Would be nice for Roland or the puppet to come out and saying "we're selling Norburn for £700k, we're going to buy two record transfer players with the funds". Won't happen of course, we tend to reinvest a tiny % of transfer fees. Really hope we go out and small a decent fee on a midfielder as Docherty leaves a massive gap.

don't panic people, we will do a Gordon Brown and sell the gold off for f@@£ all. Ricketts will pull in the Wrexham midfield, a couple of loans and a couple of old mates. Welcome to Ricketts Salop!

We'll probably pick up another loan player from Rangers. SR has said he intends to use all 5 loan spaces. And don't forget we'll have Edwards, Vincelot and Walker presumably playing some meaningful part in midfield next season. None of whom contributed much last season, and in Walker's case nothing at all as he was on loan to Wrexham.

Another one who allegedly wants to be closer to his family. No fee involved as he was a free agent. That will please the Ipswich Chairman! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48589235

If Norburn goes I think we still need at least six to come in.

Considering he's our record signing, I too wouldn't be disappointed if he were to go.
His time at Town would be quickly forgotton.

If Norburn goes I think we still need at least six to come in. 2 Goalkeepers, RB, LB, at least 2 midfielders, and a forward who can bring others into play. Both the RB and LB will have to be able to play the wing back role. Minimum requirements. Possibly a left sided CB too. I'm assuming Jones and Angol are certainties to leave, whilst Gilliead and Haynes are also possibilities. No idea how to get rid of AAH other than paying him off. I've no doubt we'll be bringing in 5 loan players.

To come out and tell the footballing world that we have money to spend and we intend to spend it would be utter madness. Yes it might please a few fans by showing ambition but it would see any clubs asking for more in transfer fees

Norburn was good last season....in a poor team scrambling for points....and 500,000 seems about right.

Really don’t see what Norburn has done wrong?... no one was brilliant this season hence why we finished where we did.

Would be good if they put the interview with Ricketts on iFollow - you often get a much better feel for the underlying message behind the words. After a season of iFollow content being reasonable I hope that the club do not slip back into the patchy service that we had in prior years.

Really don’t see what Norburn has done wrong?... no one was brilliant this season hence why we finished where we did. Neither can I . It’s the usual tack on here to stick the boot in to one of our players who looks likely to leave for whatever reason . Yes , he wasn’t great last season but did enough . I’m sure the fact that we didn’t play a settled side didn’t do him any favours to be honest . Would rather he stayed but some seem to think we can replace him without any bother . Let’s see how well that works out .
